I didn't row for the block M, but I hope to in grad school. The HOCR is the probably the most prestegious rowing event in the USA. Winning it is like winning the OSU game.
It seems one can look to past ones and write meaningful post game presser coverage. Only the verbiage changes, but the content is always the say hum-drum.

Let's hope that the UMFB staff can take these exceptional players and mold them into the best players in the nation. The timing seems thus, where we have the perfect storm of experienced existing players, and a plethora of fresh talent. '14 and '15 could be of the best years yet for our team.
I was in awe of NE's rushing attack against the Colts, Brady threw just enough to move the chains, but they rode two RBs for 75% of their offensive production.
I'm personally quite excited to see what comes of this new hire. I'm predicting he's here 2-3 years, before he moves on. Hopefully, we'll have a better understanding for where we're at as a team under his leadership in 2014!
I am normally against this "Fire coach X" crap, but yea, the O-line coach is terrible. Gardner was flushed by every team we have played.
Mattison in my view has done a good job with the defense. The secondary needs a little work, and we could use a bit more pass rush, but let's be honest, once Mattison stops playing "prevent" defense, and dials up bitzes and actual plays, we do pretty darn good.
Hoke needs to tell Borges and Funk they gotta shape up. We cannot have this level of mediocrity.
Students athletes are already being paid. They get tuition. At Michigan, depending on what all you're doing, that is in the upper 5-digits per year easily. On top of that, they get many things that traditional students cannot get (free tutoring, designated workout facilities, and more flexibility with their classwork).
Saying that athletes are not being paid for their sport is stupid and displays gross ignorance.
Everyone is so concerned about leveling the playing field, since when was "fairness" supposed to be a selling point. There is no fairness in life. If you are a person who wants 'fairness', then you are a worthless pos.
So to reiterate. Student athletes are already paid very well (free classes, housing, food, and a stipend).
Playing a team of Alabama's caliber will expose your team for any weaknesses. If I were Hoke and Co, I'd take the tape and analyze every second of it for every mistake. You won't play the #1 team in the country too often, so when you do, you need to make damn sure you take everything away from it that you can.

No one will want to play for a coach who can't coordinate effectively and who doesn't seem to care about player safety.

Hoke wants a power running game? Great, first we need to get the blocking down, at the point of attack.
