Ronnie Bell is my hero. Sparty killer.
November 16th, 2019 at 3:56 PM ^
Another week without a 200 yard receiver or 400 yard passer.

November 16th, 2019 at 3:59 PM ^
9 catches, 150 yards, one more catch called back, at least one incredibly damn good block, and one very important "cool it" to a teammate after a taunting penalty had already happened. MVP.

Future captain
November 16th, 2019 at 4:34 PM ^
Hope he gets to catch a possible game winner against OSU. Man oh man would he have earned all the glory that comes with that kind of feat.
November 16th, 2019 at 5:27 PM ^
I wonder if that idiot after the PSU game is going to send him a “great job today” letter.
November 16th, 2019 at 5:54 PM ^
Since this came up, does anyone know how to send a letter to a player?
my six year old daughter is a huge Ben Mason fan and wants to write him a letter congratulating him on that brutal hit on the Sparty near the goal line.
November 16th, 2019 at 6:04 PM ^
I imagine you could send it to:
Ben Mason
c/o University of Michigan Athletic Department
1000 South State Street
Ann Arbor, Michigan 48109
November 16th, 2019 at 6:26 PM ^
Thanks. I’ll send it on university letterhead so I don’t look like a weirdo.
November 17th, 2019 at 1:19 PM ^
You're raising a good one there. Proud of you haha
November 17th, 2019 at 2:12 PM ^
Oooh I LOVED that. Flat out ran him over.
November 16th, 2019 at 7:32 PM ^
I'm not even going to be that picky: I hope someone - anyone - gets the catch, run, FG, punt return, Kick off return, pick-six, blocked kick points for the game winner. As long as we win.
November 16th, 2019 at 6:00 PM ^
I'm liking our receiver group next year. Bell, Black and Johnson, plus Sainristril and Jackson in the slot.
November 16th, 2019 at 6:07 PM ^
We also could get DPJ back possibly. Hopefully the group this year finishes strong after some great performances so far.
November 16th, 2019 at 6:08 PM ^
Nico and DPJ still have a year of eligibility, no?
November 16th, 2019 at 6:11 PM ^
I think it's a pretty safe assumption that they're gone after this year
November 16th, 2019 at 6:20 PM ^
Is it? I would have said so before this season but not sure now. It’s not like their production is off-the-charts.
November 16th, 2019 at 6:29 PM ^
Maybe. I'm holding out hope that they won't leave to be late-round picks when they could play themselves into the first round with a better passer.
Edit: I just went back to look at DK Metcalf's draft profile. DPJ is the most likely to run a 4.3X, which could make him a mid-round pick despite his level of production.
November 16th, 2019 at 7:36 PM ^
A lot probabaly depends on if they feel that returning to Michigan will actually give them a chance to improve their draft stock. Hopefully what we saw today was more of what we can expect moving forward and not just a blip. They're not coming back to get 2-3 targets per game.
November 16th, 2019 at 6:32 PM ^
It would be crazy for all three to go. I think one (not DPJ most likely) comes back.
November 17th, 2019 at 8:56 AM ^
November 17th, 2019 at 10:18 AM ^
Why wouldn't DPJ want to play football next year?
November 16th, 2019 at 9:04 PM ^
Ronnie was just the recipient of one of the greatest QB performances in Michigan history.
November 16th, 2019 at 3:39 PM ^
Didn’t score on the first two possessions. Scored on every single one after. Shea's best game as a Wolverine. And as big of a beatdown that was, they were a couple of mistakes away from putting up even more. Go Blue! Fuck State!
November 16th, 2019 at 5:37 PM ^
I've been upset with and incredibly underwhelmed by and very critical of Shea's game/ability since the Bowl game against Florida last year. But gotta give him a big tip of the cap today. Best game he's had as a Wolverine and possibly the best game a UM QB has had since... I can't immediately think of a better game off hand. Probably best since Carr era? Did Ruddock have a game on this level when he was here? Big Kudos to Shea. They put a lot on his shoulders in this one and he stepped up.
November 16th, 2019 at 6:52 PM ^
Ruddock had 440 yds and 6 TD against Indiana in 2015.
Shea's 384 is the 5th most in a game in UM history,
November 16th, 2019 at 8:01 PM ^
Devin Gardner against OSU on a broken foot was pretty insane.
November 16th, 2019 at 8:09 PM ^
Obligatory:
ruddddddddock
remember. It’s Rudock

November 17th, 2019 at 12:06 AM ^
Shea had a fantastic game. Still had a few wide open receivers that he ignored for dump offs that were a little frustrating to see from the stands and he still can't run the read option with any regularity that he's going to make the right decision, but at this point that's expected from him. Overall great game
November 17th, 2019 at 12:35 AM ^
This is the correct take. Glad to see a good game from Shea, but he left some terrible plays out there, but he looked more comfortable and was having fun! Kudos to him
November 17th, 2019 at 7:29 AM ^
His accuracy was pretty off all game as well....throwing late/behind receivers all day. Hope he strings it together these next few games - would be deadly if accuracy improved.
November 16th, 2019 at 3:40 PM ^
Bit of a slow start. Shea played well. No turnovers. Complete domination.
November 16th, 2019 at 3:40 PM ^
Atrocious the beginning of the 1st half, got in their grove the more the game went on.
Throw that 2 QB trick play right in the trash.
Bell is the best WR on the team, but a large margin.
November 16th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
I still don’t get the point of that two quarterback play. That is really the only potential thing that you can try to run out of that and everybody is going to be expecting it. I agree, trashcan.
November 16th, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
That was the Transcontinental - but McCaffrey didn't run to his spot to receive the pass.
November 16th, 2019 at 3:58 PM ^
He got knocked down, which is legal, because he was behind the line of scrimmage.
November 16th, 2019 at 4:05 PM ^
Yeah - and if he hadn’t been knocked down is was clear sailing with blockers in front! I’m sure there are variations off that play. As noted, the right side TE was running a deep route. If the D overreacts to the 2 QB formation, one of the blocking WRs could release as well. Really don’t mind trying a few trick plays.
November 16th, 2019 at 4:48 PM ^
They should have looked toward the throw back across the field first and then chucked it downfield instead of the other way around, IMO.
November 16th, 2019 at 5:00 PM ^
The Transcontinental is the one play I miss the most from the Lloyd years. Do it right and it's a thing of beauty.
Fix that shit in practice though, not against MSU.
November 17th, 2019 at 7:33 AM ^
Same thing innit? MSU....practice....6 and 1/2 dozen kind of thing.
November 16th, 2019 at 11:22 PM ^
We need John Navarre to be on the receiving end of that.
Kinda like Rusty Staub's 73% successful stolen base percentage with the Tigers.
November 16th, 2019 at 4:45 PM ^
I say run it but with Shea Patterson in at quarterback and Dylan McCaffrey at wide receiver.
November 16th, 2019 at 5:05 PM ^
Maybe Patterson is not as good cat thing a pass as DCaff. He clearly isnt as comfortable running with the ball either.
November 16th, 2019 at 5:36 PM ^
Patterson had a couple of good runs today. But, there were a couple of plays he maybe should have kept the ball.
November 16th, 2019 at 3:58 PM ^
Different skill sets. If you need a deep ball, Nico is the best no question. If you need a guy to catch a crossing route, juke a guy out of his pants, and get some YAC- Ronnie is awesome
November 16th, 2019 at 9:17 PM ^
And DPJ is the fastest of the 3 I think. Tho Bell might be right there with him.
DPJ seems to play his best against MSU.
November 16th, 2019 at 4:13 PM ^
Atrocious the beginning of the 1st half, got in their grove the more the game went on
What was atrocious to me was how the officials missed pass interference calls that killed our first two drives. The no-call on the 4th down pass to Collins was especially bad.
November 16th, 2019 at 3:40 PM ^
We should not have game threads in the first quarter as some of you clutch your pearls too hard. Really, sack up children.
November 16th, 2019 at 3:41 PM ^
There were still people complaining about the playcall late in the fourth quarter.
