This is outside the scope of this blog. I do not come to this site for this kind of commentary. I appreciate and respect your guys' knowledge of Michigan football and football in general, but this is not what this site is about, and this story is irrelevant. No politics
Sam Webb and many others who follow Michigan recruiting reported back in November that Swenson was likely not going to be in the class. If recruiting media knew why didn't Swenson.
I hadn't heard this brought up on this site or that Bacon addressed this until now, during the writing and release and aftermath I avoided much of the coverage of the book because I knew it would be a while before I read it, and I didn't want any spoilers.
I'm not saying it's not a great book, I'm really enjoying it and I trust and believe the information that's there. But it's a helluva lot more than a few typos, and it's extremely noticable.
Sam Webb knew back in November that Swenson wasn't gonna end up in this class, and if I recall correctly MGoBlog reported it as well. We've all been expecting Weaver to decommit as well. So the media guys that follow recruiting knew, but the players didn't?
They dropped steadily in the polls all season as they eeked out victories against weak teams. They stayed in the top 10 cuz they started in the top 10 and they kept winning. Than they won the big ten fair and square. They were not favored in any big games. I may be remembering wrong, but weren't they at least a 10 point dog in the OSU game, and underdogs against us? As satifsying as it was to see them dismantled, this team was not overrated, they beat us, they beat Iowa, they beat OSU, and in potential matchups against Notre Dame, Florida State, UNC, and Stanford, they win or are competitive.
The only uneasyness I get with this is stuff is worrying that it's a violation of some sort, if it's not I'm surprised it's not. I don't think that there's anything morally wrong with it as long as the person being hired is actually a valuable asset outside of the assumed advantage with a specific recruit.
But having recruiting coordinators spread out in strategic places around the country makes a helluva lotta sense right? That's basically what Jim was for his dad while in the NFL.
And you spend tons of time practicing with these guys and sitting next to them in the classroom and looking over their shoulders when they (apparently) don't do their homework or go to their workouts, so I'm sure you know better.
I think they're in a better position to make a run in the playoffs this year than in most recent years, manufactured runs, solid bullpen, and lockdown closer.
What I don't get is how he doesn't already have committments from nos. 1 thru 22 of ESPNs top 100. If he doesn't start reeling in 5 stars pretty soon, this is gonna be a dissappointing class.
Beilein's a great coach, I mean I love him, but he really doesn't recruit very well. We should probably beef up the recruiting support staff like the football team has.
Davis was 6 for 6 in his career against Perez going into that. Martinez hit the third pitch he saw, than they had Davis in scoring position with 0 outs.
Cops in anywhere but inner cities with real crime have absolutely nothing better to do than nab kids with MIPs and pull people over for not having the right tags and other petty bullshit.
College in Ann Arbor in your day was like Animal House. I started in 2005 and graduated in 2009, no outside anything allowed into the stadium, we had to hold our tickets up so the section attendents could look to make sure everyone was in their right section. Our society has changed so much, and my generation is a bunch of pansies who don't know how to take care of themselves for it, you guys didn't kill yourselves.
Isn't there a bunch of empty blue space on the front of the luxury boxes? They should paint the numbers and names, or something like it, of the all-time greats to honor them and their years at the university. Then unretire all the numbers and let players wear them if they choose. I like the museum idea too.
If the frat is violating rules, assuming discriminating against potential members based on race is against the rules, or if there is further evidence that the frat violates code of conduct, than they should be shut down. But I would argue that the students' speech is protected by the first ammendment, and they should not be expelled for it. The students are proteceted, the fraternity is not.

Because he's a filthy, yellow-bellied trader.
Agree completely. Dantonio vs. Saban is a matchup I'm pretty interested in watching.
Maybin and Collins, buddy.
You haven't spent much time in Columbus. A whole helluva lot people own scarlet coats here.
If I was an Illinois fan I'd be happy knowing that my AD's best to worst scale includes "won't put a dagger in the heart of the program."

The miscalled targeting on Bolden ranks way up there with the many atrocities committed in this world.
This is not the AP or the Coaches poll, correct?
They did beat an SEC team.
One thing for certain is that ESPN will not pick up on that.
I think the thing we're all agreeing on here is that ESPN is a joke.
You take that back right now dammnit!

But I'm a big Neil Gaiman fan, he has a couple kids books that he markets as also being for adults. Coraline and The Graveyard Book
I have an app called TheScore, really good and easy to use, it covers all sports too.
You would.
I'm sure everyone will ignore this for as long as they can, but the tigers have one of the best bullpens in the league right now.

Victor hit the third pitch in that at-bat.
The B1G should move their headquarters to Chicago and play the championship game at Soldier Field weather be damned.

I think it's become pretty clear that a lot of people are better storytellers than George Lucas, very likely, you are included on that list.
When are they gonna fire that guy?

What do you mean? Look at all the top echelon jobs his assistants have landed since they left.
