Zap Zinter injury
Touch the Banner is reporting Zak Zinter is injured in their preview for Western Michigan. I haven’t seen it reported anywhere else. Anyone have any insight?
They also said that puts Filiaga at right guard, and Keegan at left guard.

Everyone has hinted at it but nothing official has been said. It seems likely it's a minor arm injury that won't keep him out for Washington. I doubt he'll play but supposedly he could in a pinch.

He's been practicing with a cast...doubt he plays tomorrow. Filiaga at RG, back for Washington is the plan (from the tea leaves...and as has already been said in this thread).
Means Keegan beat out Filiaga, but another audition for Filiaga.
Should be fine, but some folks were calling Zinter our best offensive player. That hurts.
Not sure if Junior Colson plays as he works himself back from injury (he's back practicing, but was out for a little bit).

Feels like every year one of our best players gets hurt and misses time. If true, hopefully it's nothing serious and doesn't impact his play the rest of the season.
With that said, the OL is pretty deep this year. I think we should be okay if a backup has to play.

So Zinter has been practicing, but in a cast. Assume that means he doesn't come back until the cast is off, but how long will that be?

I’d actually assume it means he can play in the cast if need be. But no reason to risk an injury against Western. Better to let it heal a bit for next week against Washington.
