Xfinity missing the boat on Big 10 Network.
Living all my life in Michigan, my wife and I relocated permanently down in Fort Myers, Florida last month and purchased a home in a gated community where they have Xfinity. I'm ready to sign up for the best package that has "Paramount" and "Showtime" but they do not offer the Big10 network at all. Is there any options that members can suggest as I don't want to miss any Wolverine football if they end up playing this year. Please advise . "Go Blue" !

YouTube TV

YouTube TV is a reliable option but ... just increased its monthly fee and has become quite pricey.

I assume someone that just bought a house in a gated community can scrape together $59/month for YouTube TV.

If he’s a “Walmart Wolverine,” he must go to the fancy Walmart they keep secret from us peasants...
September 7th, 2020 at 10:10 AM ^
Don't tell anyone, but the fancy Walmart is Sam's Club. You could eat a free 7 course meal just walking the aisles in the preCovid days while they put new tires on your car.

4 Berry Sundae 4 life fools!!!

Second this. Youtube TV just added the NFL Network at no extra charge to their basic subscription.
You can share the subscription too. I added my son who lives in a different state for no extra charge.

I think any family members have to live in the same house as the family manager. I think your son will have to sign in from within your house every month or so, if I remember right.

+1
Even the with the price hike YTTV is a good bargain not to mention the bump came because of adding channels like Paramount as the OP mentions. The unlimited DVR is the best offered anywhere.
They could bump this is another $20 and it would still be way better than the $200+ I was shelling out for before.

Hulu Live has it as well.
September 6th, 2020 at 11:32 PM ^
I’m liking Hulu better than Youtube. I’m not a huge sports fan though and I prefer the shows and movies Hulu has. Wife likes Hulu better too for the shows.
September 7th, 2020 at 12:02 AM ^
YouTube TV just added NFL Network at no additional cost so there's that too (if you follow the NFL at all).
September 7th, 2020 at 12:55 AM ^
Hulu has its always sunny in philadelphia. That's all that matters.
September 7th, 2020 at 2:58 AM ^
So does YouTube tv.
September 7th, 2020 at 12:17 PM ^
Since when? I dropped youtube tv about a year ago and never noticed it on there.
September 7th, 2020 at 2:47 PM ^
YTTV has a few season/episodes of AS but its definitely not what you would call a comprehensive list.
However, because of the unlimited YTTV DVR all you really need to do is add the show to your library, sit back and watch your DVR depository fill-up sorted by season and episode as if were native to the service--might take a couple of months.
I just pay the extra $6 for so a month for basic Hulu to get everything including all of the AS episodes but excluding the live service.

Anything but Comcast. They’re the worst.
September 7th, 2020 at 6:57 AM ^
I used to think this until I got Charter Spectrum. It's like they took Comcast, copied it, and made it worse somehow.
To answer OP's question, do away with cable. Any streaming service will be better. I use YouTube TV now and it's fine.

I do not miss Charter. In the six or so years I had Charter, I never changed my service and I also never received two consecutive bills for the same amount. I won’t even get into their lack of reliability and piss-poor customer service.
Having worked with my share of cable and telephone companies, though, they’re not the worst I’ve dealt with. The trick (at least for business connections) is to make friends with someone who knows what the hell they’re doing.
September 7th, 2020 at 12:13 PM ^
They're really not. In my area they are the only reliable internet provider, so rather than slicing and dicing, it's easier to use them for phone, cable and internet. I pay an extra $10/month for TCM and the NFL RedZone package in the fall, but the rest of the year my combined bill is $200/month.
Could I save $40 in equipment rental fees by switching? Probably. But it's not worth the hassle when service and customer care are always reliable. I've had them for 12 years without any major issues or concerns.

Interesting. I switched from DirecTV to Comcast and I get the SEC Network here in Chicago, but you can’t get BTN in Florida? Sure it’s not part of a package you may need to add to the service from your new place? I got the 220+ channel package which is saving me $90 per month over DirecTV which was just getting crazy expensive.
Follow Up Note: On the Xfinity website, I entered an address in Fort Myers Beach to see the channel lineup. BTN is channel 742.

You live in a gated community and can afford the best TV package. Wooow.

Those ohio mouth breathers are everywhere in the south. They never change their tags. Douchebags.
September 7th, 2020 at 12:12 AM ^
Maybe double check with Comcast? I have the Sports Entertainment package as an add on and I get BTN, SEC, and Pac 12. I’m not in a Big Ten state.
September 7th, 2020 at 10:16 AM ^
This. It’s in the Premium Sports package in my non-B1G state as well.

I remember 20 years ago the big thing was ESPN college game day. I remember traveling around the country to visit friends and family with my receiver to plug it into their dish to watch a lot of Michigan games while not at home.
September 7th, 2020 at 2:40 AM ^
That's why I switched from Xfinity when they dropped B10 network..
September 7th, 2020 at 3:00 AM ^
I live in Tallahassee, and get the Big Ten Network through Xfinity with the "More Sports & Entertainment" package. It's not on one of their "levels". You have to specifically get the package add-on.
September 7th, 2020 at 12:16 PM ^
Correct. It's $9.99/month and the only way to get CMT, TCM, and the RedZone. If you like old movies and/or the NFL, it's worth it.
September 7th, 2020 at 4:02 AM ^
Google “college football Reddit” and click on whichever link suits you best, or if you have a playstation, I highly suggest sportsurge.net
September 7th, 2020 at 1:49 PM ^
Yup. I just have internet through comcast and an old computer tower setup next to the tv. If i feel like watching sports i just pull up a reddit stream and put it on the tv.

I live in North Fort Myers in a gated community and I have Xfinity's Comcast's Sports and Entertainment Package...Includes Big Ten SEC, Red Zone, FS1 and several others..I think it's like $5 a month
September 7th, 2020 at 9:42 AM ^
I live in Bonita Springs. The introductory rate for the Sports and Entertainment Package is $5, but then it jumps to $9.99 after 12 months. You can ask for the $5 rate once it jumps and if they won't give it to you, cancel and then reinstate for the $5. I hate Comcast, but the options suck. Streaming is a 20 second delay with occasional pixeling and satellite does not work in heavy rain.
September 7th, 2020 at 7:13 AM ^
...I've posted a link to a stream of every one one of Michigan's games for the last two years on this board.
September 7th, 2020 at 7:17 AM ^
My mom has Summit Broadband in Naples and BTN is in their base lineup. Summit has been laying fiber in hot spots around Florida and offering cable TV, internet, and telephone services at it's probably 40% cheaper than Comcast.
September 7th, 2020 at 7:57 AM ^
I have Xfinity with B1G in central Florida. Might want to research.
September 7th, 2020 at 9:14 AM ^
Before leaving Naples to st Pete I had Century Link. Ditched Comcast. Century Link had BTN and more channels for less. I’m stuck w Spectrum up here and BTN is a another package our condo doesn’t have. Check it out.

M Alumni has a bar on 41 and Immokolee rd on the west side of 41. Join up have fun.
September 7th, 2020 at 10:01 AM ^
Semi-seriously, Wal-Mart Wolverine, you could take my approach. Wait patiently for the "every snap" versions of the games. Twenty minutes of continuous offense and twenty minutes of continuous defense, or forty minutes of continuous everything. No ads, no useless babbling by the color guy, just generally wonderful and time-efficient.
September 7th, 2020 at 10:47 AM ^
Get highspeed internet, cut cable, go with either youtubeTV or fuboTV
September 7th, 2020 at 11:42 AM ^
Eh....don’t worry about it! You’ll have plenty of time to figure it out. Schlissel needs a completely sterile environment for Michigan to play any organized sports again. Maybe 2030 when a roof is put on the Big House so that they can provide an aerosol spray to disinfect the entire stadium throughout the game!

XFinity carries BTN in Florida. Not sure you needed to start a thread about this.
