@jcshurburtt: #Spartans could own the state of Michigan starting in 2015 writes @SWiltfong247 (VIP) http://t.co/JYg4OQNcQa #TheOracle At this point it could be essentially true, since we have neither offered or shown a great deal of interest in several of the top players in the state next year.

As long as we keep Little Brother little they can take all they like, the best recruits in Michigan will want to play where the winners and best make there claim. Thats AA.

Well FWIW, Brian Cole is from my hometown and my mom, being a teacher, happens to know his HS counselor. She is an M grad and strong advocate of sending kids to Michigan that are fortunate enough to have the opportunity.

Yeah I know, cool story.

"I make a recruiting statement about the state of Michigan, equals more traffic, and maybe more money for me during my PMW....whooo whooo aw awhhh."

Hoke's established a strong Midwestern base and has gone and branched out to the South and mid-Atlantic for the guys he wants and needs. Hoke is a man with a plan. We're in good hands no matter where he chooses to focus his recruiting in any given year.

Drake Harris had committed to Michigan State

Lawrence Marshall was leaning away from Michigan and later would briefly commit to Ohio State and be close to committing to MSU

Malik McDowell was torn between a lot of schools

Damon Webb was supposedly between Michigan and LSU and the prospect most likely to end up a Wolverine.

There is a lot of time left until February 2015. And worst of all is the top of the 2015 Michigan class is not even on the level of the 2014 prospects right now. There are not many traditional powers coming for Michigan's 2015 kids right now. Brian Cole has some suitors. Tennessee is working on Josh Alabi and Mike Weber. But not much else. Maybe these kids blow up in the next year, but right now I don't think it is anything to lose any sleep over.

Michigan has to be extremely selective in who they take next year with a small class probably under 15-16. Michigan State is going to have more instate kids in their class next year, and Blackwell is going to help with that. Their fans should be ecstatic about it. Does it affect Michigan all that much? Hard to say, but probably not in 2015.

Isn't the state of Ohio pretty down as well for the 2015 class besides a few "top" guys? I thought I read somewhere (will try to find link) the state usually has a lot more D1 talent.

Ohio State always has a problem of letting in state kids go and they are fine. I understand their state gets more D1 talent and they do not have another power program located in Ohio but there are a TON of schools always after kids there.

Don't care. We're still gonna win.

Judging by how the coaches have been doing so far I think they know how to target and evaluate recruits. If we're not going after some 2015 in state kids there must be a reason. I think the coaches are fully aware of everything that is going on.

One - George Campbell and Damien Harris

Two - Dantonio and his staff had no idea who George Campbell was when they were in his school on a recruiting trip LINK.

Yeah, I'm not worried about how we're going to fare in recruiting against MSU in 2015 or any year in the near future.
