Having seen Will Rogers play a couple of times... is it really a good save? I guess in so far as having a scholarship QB or 2 on the roster is a good thing.

Its in this offseason I'm realizing how truly committed some Michigan fans are to being miserable about everything

We won the national title. Columbus is in shambles and is going full desperation mode next year or they might all immolate. MSU is in such a sorry state that they're not even yapping. Everyone who ever whined about Connor Stallions has to shut up forever or whine anonymously on the internet. And people are still in misery because OSU has moved from a top 5 in the talent composite to... *checks notes*....still a top 5 in the talent composite

Try to focus on the topic posted and the response and less on your feelings.

It was posted that some hoped Will Howard would hopefully come to Michigan. I don't have a horse in this race, since I don't have a strong position on him as a player.

But, the issue raised was... if you were hoping he'd come here, who would reach out? Is it a foregone conclusion that if Jimmy leaves, Sherrone is the new coach? Is he able to tell anyone that if so? What if Jimmy comes back? If Jim takes Minter, do positions change? Is clink a lock as DC?

Perhaps some are miserable that we are not continuing to up the ante and stay out ahead and right now are in a bit of a holding pattern... Now a couple decades ago (or 3), Mike Mussina left Baltimore and joined the yankees, in part, because he said that the day after the Yankees won the WS, Torre was on the phone to him to recruit him over to the Yankees. Do we want that level of relentlessness? I would think so, as fans, even if that's not a fair stance.

Now back to the question... its not MISERABLE to say that given that other than a long snapper, on the recruiting front, things are on hold because nobody is clear yet where the team is going (from a leadership perspective). Recruits (see Gaitlin Bair) have specifically said that. out loud. to other humans.

So, you can get emotional if you like but the point holds... if Michigan was interested in Howard, how would that interaction go?

How pathetic we can't even get a decent QB transfer after the NC.

Honestly, thank you Jim for the NC but fucking make a decision!

How is he supposed to “make a decision”? It’s likely he hasn’t even been offered a fucking job dumbass. And Yes, he could decide to just quit the Michigan job I guess. But who does that without a new job in hand?

The process (or at least the timeline) isn’t something Harbaugh can control.

Exactly.  People here make it sound like Jim wants all these NFL interview processes to roll on forever.

I am sure Jim hates teams like the Charges and Falcons dragging out process with large numbers of candidates pulled into second (and third?) rounds as much as anybody here that has applied for new job and had interview process drag on for a month or more.

I am quite certain Jim never 'promised' he would stay. People are reading way too much into Jim saying he'll stay at Michigan as long as they'll have me. That's just press conference speak and if you take that as Jim making a solemn promise then I don't know what to tell you

Jim clearly is interested in the NFL. It's just gonna have to be a few murky weeks before we find out the result

People quite without a job in hand all the time and they often don't do it with the financial stability Jim Harbaugh has in his life.

What you seem to be missing is that by leaving Michigan in limbo, he is actively harming the program for the coming year whether he leaves or not. Yes, Michigan got away with it the last two years, mainly because the roster was so good and a lot of guys came back. That's not the case next year. Michigan added two guys from the portal in a year with a lot more holes after a year where they added what, 8 or 9?

And then if he leaves, now he's created a scenario where its open season on Michigan's roster for a month correct?

Is he doing right by Rod Moore with this constant NFL flirtation? Donovan Edwards?

Rogers would be a pretty poor fit in our offensive scheme. His last coach forced regression on him (and accordingly lost his job) bc he tried to force them into a pro-style scheme.

Meh. We’d be better off adapting more Shanahan principles into our passing scheme, or even Moorhead principles with the emphasis on varying formations with the same personnel group. Our substitutions tend to betray our intentions more than most squads’. We could get a lot of mileage from locking a defense on the field with Edwards, Mullings, Loveland, and Bredeson - that group (w/ say, Semaj Morgan) could give you 11, 12, 21, or 22.

This is the obvious next evolution of the Harbaughffense.  Which, honestly, can only happen if Harbaugh is not running it.  Jim's offense is great, but it's also conservative in the passing game.  Opening up the pass game to different looks, like the running game is allowed, would be scary.

if {college football player enters transfer portal = TRUE} then {commence whining about Harbaugh}

if {college football player chooses another school = TRUE} then {commence whining about Harbaugh}

if {five star prospect chooses another school = TRUE} then {commence whining about Harbaugh}

if {four star prospect chooses another school = TRUE} then {commence whining about Harbaugh}

if {all of the above = FALSE} then {commence whining about Harbaugh anyway}
