This is a head-scratcher... with such little offer quality, is this another St.Juste under the radar guy who doesnt camp?  I wonder what Magnus thinks of his game......  CALLING MAGNUS....

People keep saying this but a top flight Don Brown defense with inferior talent but extremely well coached gave up 34 points and 530 yards to clemson.  I'd rather have Don Brown coaching kids who are better than the ones he had at BC to be perfectly honest.

We have been through this before, recruiting rankings aren't generally wrong, we have a lot of talent left on the board and not a ton of spots.  Seems like a questionable take since we already need some pretty extreme attrition to get us to the high 20's of a class.

In the aggregate, yes recruiting rankings are accurate. But 1) that's final rankings, and we all know how much those can change for some recruits over their senior year, and 2) they are not always accurate in a sample size of one. This is like saying "Dutch people are taller on average than Japanese people" and then assuming one particular Japanese guy is shorter than an average Dutch guy, even when presented with evidence to the contrary (in our case, that evidence is a Michigan offer). Point is, a full class of 4-5 stars is likely to outperform a class of all 3-stars, but you can't go all "recruiting rankings matter" on individual recruits and expect that to stick with many people. And as many others have said, you should take Harbaugh's and Brown's track record of success over Rivals or 247.

This isn't a one off occurence, we have gone after multiple lower rated guys Don Brown was in on at BC.  If he picked one guy its a diamond in the rough situation.  Bama and OSU are good every year because they bring in truly elite talent at every position.  We already have a class that is half people we are claiming are under the radar guys who could progress into good players.

OSU's lowest rated non kicker in the class is 297 nationally.  Michigan has 10 recruits ranked below that.  There is certainly a such thing as diamonds in the rough and trusting the coaches, it isn't a great sign when those guys comprise a quarter of your class.

I have noticed almost every time we sign a player rated in the low 80s they tend to decommit prior to signing day.  I am not sure the coaching staff will continue to fill the roster with these players.  Of course, there are some exceptions, but for the most part this is true.

I don't mind the 3* but why another wde? Michigan has brought in R. Johnson, C. Kemp, L. Vilain, and C.M. Hatcher at that position in 2 classes. It seems like they want their SDE to be 285lbs+, and I'm not sure any of these guys can get there at only 6'3" so I ask why another WDE?

If we are going to have the number 1 recruiting class in the country we can't take the three stars like this guy. If Harbaugh gave him a committable offer then I trust him but rankings man.
