Wild-card Monday Night Football: Arizona Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Rams

Submitted by Hotel Putingrad on January 17th, 2022 at 8:18 PM

Well, the final game of the NFL's wild-card round has arrived.

AZ vs LA... Who ya got?

A bit more than passing interest for Lions fans: Rams lose, and our second first-round pick ends up higher than most expected. Rams win, and Matthew Stafford fans can finally see that monkey off his back. Should be a good one!

As much as I’d like to get the higher pick, I’d really like to see Stafford succeed and win some playoff games. He’s been nothing but appreciative and professional during the trade with LA and still reflects positively on his time with the Lions even through so many front office and coaching transitions.
Go get your win, Stafford!

Watching players from Detroit leave to find success is damn near the only playoff excitement I have outside of watching former Michigan players.  Usually, go with whichever team has the most former Michigan players with the number of B10 players as the tie breaker.

Rams

  • David Long Jr.
  • Side note: LA has 14 former B10 players.

Arizona

  • None
  • Side note: AZ only has 2 former B10 players.

Haven’t been watching, just tuning back in. The Cardinals look like a defeated team right now, the body English is very bad.

EDIT:  uh oh, left knee tweak for long.

Can Akers coming back from injury is paying dividends early. Sony has the hands out of the backfield but Cam has the 2nd gear outside and between the tackles. Stafford didn’t have to throw, like Cade our first couple games.

In regards to what happened to Zona, part of the problem is the NFL always adjusts.  Teams are now on the Zona horizontal passing game.  Without Hopkins to bail the offense out with his ridiculousness, it is just a matter of squatting on everything short and spying Murray.  The question for Zona is can they come up with a counter.
