3 offers out thus far.
I go to the same highschool as Poet Thomas, and this guy for sure is going to be huge.
I've seen some coaches from Notre Dame even stop by to talk to him. He plays with authority, and started on a varsity team that went to the state quarters as a sophomore. He's 6'6 295 already and trains with some of the top coaches in Michigan, (both in school and out).
He's not to sharp at algebra (same class lol), but he's already a high school stud.
I was the back judge for your home coming game against Ecorse (same day as the film crew was filming a scene from the movie Jinn). I didn't take notice of Poet, but I thought your wide receiver -- the one who caught the winning touch down -- was pretty good.
I believe you're talking about Kenny Knight, he graduated this year, and accepted a scholarship to play WR at Illinois
He also got some private coaching from Calvin Johnson when the Lions used the practice facilities for the voluntary off season workouts.
Dillard goes to my highschool and is a beast. Would be great to land him.
He hasn't seen much interest from Michigan, thus far. He already has an offer from Eastern Michigan and MSU has been showing a lot of interest, as well as, Oregon. If offered by Oregon then I say he's a big lean to them.
The only other in-state offer we have according to TTB is Wyatt Shallman (DE / FB/RB-ish thing) from Catholic Central. http://touchthebanner.blogspot.com/p/2013-offer-board.html
and names that are probably being repeated. This is from:
http://jimstefani.wordpress.com/2011/03/29/michigan-recruiting-news-and…
He says this is not in any particular order and just some names to keep a look out for and this is generally from Michigan's perspective. Also, he has short blurbs on each that I did not copy
1) Shane Morris (QB, 6-3, 185, 4.90, Warren De La Salle)
2) Berkley Edwards (RB, 5-9, 172, Chelsea): Younger brother of former Michigan star Braylon Edwards.
3) Brandon Moore (WR/DB/P, 6-4, 190, Montague):
4) Adam Coon (DL/OL, 6-5, 230, 4.80, Fowlerville):
5) Luke MacLean (DL/LB, 6-3,233, 4.85, Grand Blanc):
6) Wyatt Shallman (DL/RB, 6-3, 241, 4.92, Novi Detroit Catholic Central):
7) John Reschke (LB, 6-2, 215, 4.65, Birmingham Brother Rice):
8) Trent Bragg (LB/WR/DB, 6-1, 200, Detroit Frederick Douglass):
9) John Doyle (LB/FB, 6-1, 215, 4.80, Grosse Pointe South):
10) Dai-Zoun Oliver (DB/RB, 5-9, 164, 4.40, Melvindale):
11) Jaleel Canty (DB/WR, 5-9, 184, 4.46, Lansing Everett):
12) Eddie Huckleby (DB/LB/ATH, 5-10, 175, Farmington Hills Harrison): The son of former Michigan star RB Harlan Huckleby.
13) Demetrius Stinson (DB/RB, 5-9, 175, Detroit Frederick Douglass):
14) K.C. Zenner (DB, 6-0, 181, Rockford):
14) Grant Niemic (RB/LB, 5-11, 205, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s):
15) Amani Bass (QB/ATH), 6-1, 180, Jackson Lumen Christi): Younger brother of former Michigan player Antonio Bass
Are belong to us!
Even if they are Sparty legacies?
Jon Reschke's dad was a giant 6'8" tackle for MSU. He seems like a heavy sparty lean. It is reported that he is friends with Shane Morris and there seems to be a good on-field rivarly between the two.
Any reason he doesn't include Elmer? Also, does that say that Brandon Moore is one of those WR - DB- Punter combos? Don't see those every day..
he included Elmer at the beginning, I just didn't copy him over:
First, I will give you the name of a Class of 2013 in-state sleeper who absolutely nobody is talking about. He is an offensive lineman who could well follow in the tradition of Jake Long and recent Oregon signee Jake Fisher. His name is Steven Elmer (6-6, 297, 5.15 forty, Midland High) and he could well have as much potential as any lineman in the state of Michigan.
Again, this was written in March before Elmer started getting all of his offers.
I haven't seen Brandon Moore play, but he sounds intriguing. I love big WRs (a la Braylon and David Terrell). Speaking of Braylon, I hope we are recruiting his brother. He could be part of a nice tandem with Dymonte (even we are recruiting him as a RB)
From things we've heard so far, it's between him and Elmer for top spot in the state. Elmer is a beast. I really hope we can land him.
The recruiting sites will probably give it to Elmer just because hes uncomitted and they would get more hits to their sites.
Offensive Tackle from Warren Mott. 6'7 315 lbs. Not yet listed as he hasnt camped much. He was invited to M's camp last week on a Saturday and supposedly Hoke wants film from him.
It's nice to see that Hoke is already on top of 2013 prospects not being widely touted. Plenty of time for Vrabac to impress if he has a good fall, though camping more this summer wouldn't hurt (if there are even still camps left?).

This summer I walked into ART in auburn hills and had a chance to see steve elmer and poet thomas training. For sure these are the 2 best linemen in the class of 2013 I stopped my training to watch them go at it. Steve Elmer is good But, I take Poet Thomas he was great. It would be very interesting to watch them in a game. however both need a little gunpowder. I guess you will have to wait until college since Elmer has committed to ND and Thomas has UM very high on the list. oh maybe I wasn't suppose to say that.....signed a homeboy.....

Lmao I am pretty sure he graduated in the Class of 2011 from Frederick Douglass.
