I have heard that mentioned elsewhere as well, but could not find anything to confirm one way or the other.
I think the road team has to allow the home team to wear white, but if they want to I don’t see why we wouldn’t let them.
Maybe its gamesmanship… they figure there will be so many of our fans traveling their wearing white, that they will do this change to try and make their home crowd actually look like a home crowd.

It's the rules (see page 23). The visiting team has to agree to let the away team wear white, and it has to be done in writing, prior to the season.

Maize Jersey, Maize Pants.
We are only missing these 3 color combos:
Blue Jersey, White Pants,
Maize Jersey, Blue Pants,
Maize Jersey, White Pants.
I say fuck it, let's get them all. Yeah it will be ugly for a game (I'm looking at you, Maize Jersey, White Pants) but lets get it over with and do all of them. A Rutgers game feels like a perfect opportunity to knock out, say, a Maize Jersey, White Pants combo.
