What renovations/new buildings do you want to see around campus?

I'd say a new rec center. The CCRB and Intramural Sports Building are not in the best shape and the NCRB is decent after the renovations. After that, the university could construct a new arena for volleyball, wrestling, and men's gymnastics similar to what Ohio State did with Covelli Arena.

I’ll keep it to Stadium Stuff:
Update the scoreboards at the stadiums. They are still solid, but the technology in the past 10 years has come a ways.

Retired numbers on the luxury suites.

An awesome WiFi experience in the stadium as well.

A bank and a big ass car dealership for all the 5 star recruits we're going to pull in.

Dakrer Blues Dank Dispensary would also add a small bit of class to the best college town in the world

Yeah, the front facade on State Street is an abomination.  They kept saying that they don't want to renovate the front because it represents a specific era of architecture and to lose it would do a disservice to respecting that history.

Apparently that argument does not hold water when they seek to rename various landmark buildings, but it is okay here for arguably the ugliest  high-profile building on campus.  Considering that LS&A is the largest academic unit at the university, you would expect that the standard-bearing building that bears its name would try to present a more welcoming face to the world, if for no other reason than to impress prospective students.  Instead it looks like a dilapidated and ramshackle mess.  Not exactly a great way to make an impression, especially when considering the cost of attendance and the more cohesive architectural footprint that many of our peer institutions present.

It’s definitely not the best-looking building on campus (although I like the Art Deco clock) but I think you’re going a little overboard about the impression it makes.  I was in LS&A and think I set foot in that building once.  And if prospective students don’t like its appearance, they can just turn and take in the beauty of Angell Hall and the Union.

It represents a specific era alright: the most hideous moment ever in architecture. Like the abysmal additions to the Law School of the same era. The world's tastes went nuts for a while after WWII. But leaving them as lessons from the past isn't the worst idea for a university. They represent an ideology that is part of our heritage. And they are basically harmless, if understood.

Dennison was remodeled and has a new name I believe. Basically, the last central campus bldg to be renovated since major project work began in 1995ish.

Unless they re-redo the old Eng Engin bldg, school of social work bldgs, etc that were redone/built in 1996 or so. That's when you KNOW you're old: Not only have all the buildings been reno'd since you finishied in A2, but then some start ANOTHER reno.

Paint the ceiling of Crisler white. As amazing as the renovations to the concourse have been, the seating area still feels like a dungeon, especially in the upper bowl. No amount of lighting can offset the black ceiling. Painting it white would be an inexpensive, massive upgrade that is decades overdue.

Anything which further congests badly undersized streets is fine by me, and because Ann Arbor is older than the state in which it sits, this would be most of the streets around campus.

In all seriousness though, if they could remove the entire MLB and replace it with a building that isn't an eyesore....

Monorail to connect north & south campus.  There’s really no quick fix to the aesthetics of the main campus buildings - a complete hodgepodge of architectural styles, most of which are garbage within their own genre (law campus is the obvious exception).  Honestly, just tried to keep the roads from being in a post-earthquake state, and that would help.

Knock down the MLB. Put something in its place that doesn't look like a prison.

Everyone loves the law quad...and yet universities continue to build structures that are eyesores within a decade or two. I'm no aesthetic philosopher but I'm pretty sure some buildings are more objectively pleasing than others even if some modern architects refuse to admit it.

Not a building, but please redo the bunkers on the M golf course.  They are atrocious and a dark blot on an otherwise wonderful golf course.  Some have no sand and some are like Sleeping Bear dunes - zero consistency from bunker to bunker.

recently toured Crisler and the Big House. The Hall of Honor was a huge letdown. akin to old school scheduling tags on a wall board. nothing stands out, hidden and almost invisible.

Does stuff really always need to be renovated? I work for the ready mix concrete company that is supplying for the Ruthven Museum renovation, and if people knew how overdesigned and how many unnecessary costs are involved it would probably irritate people even more at U-M's ridiculous tuition costs.
