What is more likely to be seen Saturday, an Onside Kick or a Trick Play?

Submitted by VinnieMac25 on

IMO thanks to the video footage from WolverineHistorian, it has me visualizing a special game from Michigan football. So why can't we see a double reverse? Or maybe a Denard pass to Daryl Stonum then back to Denard for a td! Just like Woodson to Griese! Clearly this team came close of recovering two on side kicks vs Wiscy. So my question is will we see a trick play from RR or an onside kick?  Go Blue! (sorry been watching footage from '88 to '00 games)

Since we have seen many more onside kicks than trick plays, I'd bet on that.

However, since we have yet to really use a trick play does that make it more or less obvious that our last game is where you'll see us pull it out?

I don't care what we have to use to win as long as we win! I wanna see Pryor get DENARDED.

We have a 43.975% chance of seeing a trick play and a 41.473% chance of an OSK.

Of course, when I factor in that we will never trail in this game the chance of an OSK goes to 0.

Out of curiousity, why doesn't RR run the speed option or any sort of load option? (And yes I've been playing too much NCAA 11)

I hope to see a play in which we trick Pryor to throw the ball to one of our own players on defense.  Actually, 4 or 5 of those trick plays would be awesome.

Barring injury, I'm fairly certain we will see Denard and Tate on the field at the same time in this game. I know that the team has practiced these types of plays during the season, but they never had the right timing to bring it out. This is the week.

I would love to see RR come out in the second half with a bunch of new plays on offense, and some new looks on defense.  Why the second half?  Coaches usually spring surprises like that in the first half and it gives the opponent time to adjust.

As for onside kicks, I almost think RR should call all onside kicks and no punts or FG's unless the FG's are in the middle and within 25 yards.  It would change the nature of the game if every series was in "four down territory."

At this point we should:

- never punt when beyond our 40

- never try a field goal

- onside kick every opportunity

Who's kidding who?  We know what we can't do and so do they.  Sacrifice no opportunity

Our trick plays that have been unsuccessful over the years should not have been attempted.  Our onside kicks that were not recovered should have been kicked deep for the sake of field position.
