What is it that you think WILL happen with the program?

I'm not asking what you WANT to have happen. I think it's pretty clear that Harbaugh has lost the fanbase and may even have lost his own team. I'm asking what you predict WILL happen, given what we know about Harbaugh, the culture of the AD, and the University's track record in these kinds of situations.

Harbaugh will finish the year out, win over Rutgers, and maybe Maryland and Penn State

Either he'll quit or stay one more non covid year

Probably 6-6 next year and then he'll retire

Penn State will destroy us. Don’t be fooled by their 0-4 record. They should have beat Indiana. They weren’t destroyed by OSU. They outplayed Nebraska after getting behind early.
We lost at home against a horrible MSU team. We got pantsed by a Wisconsin team missing 5-6 starters that hadn’t played in 3 weeks.

Yeah some people have mentioned 2016 ND but PSU is way more like that than Michigan. They basically doubled yardage of Indiana and Nebraska. Not so sure Franklin will turn it around considering recruiting is in the toilet but this year they are definitely playing better than Michigan.

Harbaugh will finish this season and leave on his own after the OSU game. I'm sure he'll be encouraged to leave, but I don't think he'll be formally fired. With the uncertainty of the pandemic and the budget effects that have already taken place, there's just no way that that UM can send out those notices for PSDs and seat renewals in January after a 2-6 season and a 50+ point loss to OSU.

I think Harbaugh wants out, so he's gone after this season.  I don't think he'll be fired tonight, though it would be justified.  I do think Brown might be let go after this game.  And if Harbaugh says "No, I will not fire Brown", then he might get the axe tonight too, but that's the only way.

There will be a new staff next season.  I think that's a given.

Nothing. Nothing will happen until after next season.  Harbaugh will get a Covid pass until next season.

People like us realize there are other things to do on Saturdays in the fall. Stop spending stupid amounts of money at the Mden. Big house averages 85k a game. I don’t pass the love of this on to my kids.

I think that they like Harbaugh's focus on academics and dont want to fire him. Ultimately, he is paid millions of dollars to win football games and if he is headed for Hoke territory you can't keep him.

Im thinking that Jim Harbaugh will get a contract extension . Not thats what anyone but Jim Harbaugh wants . I just dont expect the university to do the right thing. I hope I am wrong .

Coaching change needs to happen but ultimately it won't matter who they hire. This program is permanently fucked.  They can't stop tripping on their own dicks.

I think they mutually agree to part ways at the end of the season, to save face and honor the degree to which JH has otherwise served honorably.

Then they’ll go find someone young and rising, as opposed to old and settled, with an eye toward breaking the old white guy mafia trend. Worked with Juwan. I know he’s an alum. But it seems like Warde wants to break the mold a bit. He evidently succeeded on the hoops front. So why not give it another go?

I think people underestimate how much of a tipping point this is.  Imagine having to sign up for PSL's next year with the Covid overhang and this trainwreck of a team.  Warde has zero good options.  There are no home run coaches available that would actually come that I am aware of.  If they fuck this up, we could be looking at the end of 100,000+ attendance and all that goes with it.  I think they will wind up playing it safe and keeping Harbaugh.

I think the PSL issue is why there will be a change. I have two tickets in section 22 and I am going to get something in the mail soon telling me I need to send them $1250 by January 31. I have had season tickets for over 20 years and would never have imagined giving them up, but that is a really big ask after what I saw tonight. (Not to mention, now I know how much easier my schedule is with my kids and regular life when I don't spend 7 Saturdays a fall in Ann Arbor).

Harbaugh will resign.  He will take a year off to get right and take an NFL gig if healthy.

We will find out what really the fuck is going on with the program and rumors around his health, poor coaching, poor retention of staff and players, etc.

We will hire a meh coach with great ethics whose ceiling is 9-3.  We won't be elite because it's simply not that important to the university.

This seems about right. The only thing I might disagree with is that I think the powers that be want Michigan Football to be an elite program. No one in Schembechler Hall actually wants to be curb-stomped by Ohio State every year. I just think they live on another planet in their assessment of how far we are from elite and what we need to do to get there.

Jim leaves for the NFL, either this year or next.

We strike out with top candidates (Fickell, Campbell)

We hire Tom Allen or Chris Klieman and the fan base gets their hopes up. We will return to Wisconsin tier and stay there because we've got a ceiling now.

It will finish it's implosion. Michigan will fire Harbaugh, or allow him to "leave on his own terms". They'll hire [coach X]. If that coach is good. He'll have Michigan competitive in year 3 of his program. If he's not, we'll basically be Tennessee.

Michigan football has been a joke for 12 years. A below average team that thinks they are great.

The team on the field is the worst I have ever seen.

Fire the entire staff. Tomorrow.

Osu will score 80 points and Harbaugh will step down. Then our A.D. will fuck up the next hire. This program is cursed.

I thought it was pretty funny when McNamara threw four straight dimes and then the camera panned over to Milton and he looked like someone just shot his grandma. Summed up this team pretty well.

Unfortunately I think the covid thing helps Harbaugh. Without covid you would have had 110,000+ booing in the stands tonight letting Manuel know what a putrid product was out on the field. You would also have future games with a less than full stadium showing him that apathy was setting in. The football team needs to be successful and have fan and donor support for the athletic program to thrive. Not being able to see that in person will give Manuel an excuse that he didn't see the affects from Harbaughs poor coaching. We can only hope that the big time donors have had enough and demand change. One thing is absolutely clear.Jim Harbaugh is not an 8 million dollar commodity any more and for Emanuel to offer him half that right now would be a gross negligence of his job duties.
