What's up for dinner prior to sitting down to watch the Orange Bowl ?

Submitted by Wal-Mart Wolverine on

I'll be eating a full slab of baby back ribs from "Chicken Shack" with their "Shack" broasted potatoes (less butter). Prior to retirement, I traveled a lot and had to entertain customers so had the opportunity to sample ribs around the U.S. I still feel that "Chicken Shack" are still my favorite vrs. Memphis, St. Louis, etc. I order them with the sauce charred on. What's anyone else planning ? Go Blue !

30th is my tenth anniversary with my wife as well. We are going high class while we have a babysitter, and using a gift card to Roast in Detroit, then picking up some BW3 and beer on the way home for the game. I'm really looking forward to that night. Have fun.

I'll play, going to Belmont to a friends house for the weekend. They live near a great BBQ place called "The Grilling Company" so we will probably have that. Or maybe some wings.

The wife and kids are out of town still for Xmas. So I'm bringing home a 22oz. 55 day dry aged bone-in ribeye to fire up. Will probably make some butternut squash with a lil bourbon glaze or a fat baked potato with allllll the fixins!

Had some of those last week.  Don't wear anything nice to dinner - them suckers are tasty but really messy.  An added tidbit about stone crab claws - when the fisherman pull them up out of the ocean, they only cut one claw and throw the crab back in.  The claw that just got cut off will grow back.  The more you know.......

block M hat to run in today, because I figure I'll catch hell, win or lose, after the game.

Going to be in Tarpon Springs, though, in a B&B with my wife and daughter soaking up the sights. After some contemplation we realized we could have a four-day vacation for what we'd spend doing Miami, and end up getting a little more relaxed. So my hunch is I'll be eating at least fairly decent Greek food in one of a million Greek restaurants there in the evening before the game, then heading to some bar where at least a few of the customers will NOT be FSU fans. (I've already had a bunch of FAMU friends tell me they hope we wreak havoc. Tally's not QUITE as much an FSU town as it looks on first appearance.)

I will be visiting family in Michigan and they don't have cable but get ABC loud and clear. Is the game strictly on ESPN? Or will abc carry it in parts of Michigan and Florida? I know this is the case for some MNF games, etc. Related to the thread, depending on the answer may be Pub fare with the folks!
