"We're in the ass-kicking business, and business is booming"

Michael Barrett had a quote for the ages yesterday, so I took the liberty of turning it into a T-shirt. I'll send him some NIL money after I get this made.

Can the block M be used if it’s in conjunction with a player and NIL without paying the school’s licensure fees? When Topps (Bowman) first introduced collegiate trading cards they weren’t allowed to show the school logo. Like the wings on a helmet would be photoshopped off. It wasn’t just Michigan, it was basically every school. That has changed now. The images now don’t need to be edited and they’ve even added the block M to the card. It’s possible they bought licensing rights but considering how many schools there are, that would probably be expensive. Expensive but possible.
Just curious if anyone knows the answer.

As a business, you can work with a couple licensing companies that represent the majority of colleges. So it’s pretty simple.
one exception is Michigan, which you have to work with separately as they are not part of the collectives. At least that is the way it was 5 years ago when we were working on college logos for Yeti drinkware.

Meh, I like the swagger.  UM has been too polite for far too long, even when we were great back the 90's.

Teams like Miami, USC, Bama have had swagger during their runs.  UM is starting to have it - saw it really blossom last year in the Shoe.

If you're good, talk and back it up.

We should say F Putin and his cronies or even their government. I've lived in the Middle East long enough to have have received a lot of, "we don't like your government but your people are great" type comments about America. Let's pay that forward.

“Watching their hope slowly go away. Watching that fight kind of diminish from them,” Barrett described as his favorite thing to see happen to an opponent through the course of a game.

I always thought that quote was derivative of an actual quote of Genghis Khan (perhaps intentionally):

"What, in all the world, could bring the greatest happiness?" Khan was asked.

Khan replied "To crush your enemies, to see them fall at your feet — to take their horses and goods and hear the lamentation of their women. That is best."

I like the boa constrictor comparison more, leave the ass-kickin' to Ohio in the 2nd half. That's what it felt like at the end of the 2nd quarter after the 4th down TD to Wilson. Indy went three and out and we scored again. Then opened the 2nd half with the great TD pass to Loveland, followed by 3 and out, followed by another TD to go up 35-7. Then the additional Indy turnovers happened.

Many of us, including myself, expect Sparty to come out Saturday night insanely good for a few drives on O and D. We have to do to them what we did on Saturday. Slowly strangle them until their fans leave by midway thru the 3rd Q. As a student, I went to the 1983 and 1985 games (42-0 and 31-0 UM wins). It was amazing to see empty seats and jubilant UM fans celebrating with 5 minutes to go in a beatdown at Spartan Stadium.

Will Mork even approach any of our staff in such an ending or will he slither his way behind state police to the tunnel????

Little concerned about the hubris of potentially jumping the gun and having karma come back to and kick us in the ass. But love the T-shirt just the same, where can I buy one?

I don't think the comparison of a really good team (this year) to a bad one (2020), who was also playing in empty stadiums, makes much sense. I don't think there is much, if anything, MSU can do to win Sat night. I expect them to play hard for a quarter and a half or so and make a game of it for that long, but they will likely get run over in the 2nd half.

“I will go down as one of the greatest running backs to ever play the game…I’ll be up there with Walter Payton and Barry Sanders.”
