Wake up! It's Game Day!

Submitted by cGOBLUEm on October 29th, 2022 at 7:01 AM

Good morning, MGoCommunity! The day has finally arrived. This is the day when Michigan crushes its sibling rival. Today is the day when your Spartan friends and coworkers will be silenced for the next year (actually they won't, as their inferiority complex won't allow for that). I think Michigan comes out angry tonight. Final score 45-10.

What are you doing with the long lead up to the game? I'll probable get some homework done this morning and then throw the football with my sons. Maybe I'll watch a little bit of PSU-OSU before it gets out of hand. Just prior to kickoff, I'll get into the Founders Backwoods Bastard. Then it's time to watch a beatdown

Enjoy the day, and GO BLUE!

Solo parenting this morning while my wife is working means playground time and lots of it. Getting a pork butt into the smoker late morning. Cleaning up the yard a bit before pretty midwest fall turns to dreary pre-winter midwest fall. Checking in on games here and there but can’t find much I’m that interested in during the day assuming Ohio State pummels Penn State. Couple six packs chilling and just waiting to be broken into late afternoon or early evening.

With the help of melatonin I was able to sleep in till 5:30 as opposed to my normal 4am. I feel 10 yrs younger and full of piss and vinegar, fully expecting a beat down setting the earth back on its axis! My only issue is what to make for gameday? I’m out of ideas.

EXCELLENT choice on the beer. One of my favorites as well.

Today, we can imagine as if we're drinking the blood of our enemies as we eternally damn them into the seventh level of hell!!!!

Haaaaaahahahahahahaaaaaa....

Too much?

I live overseas... been up since 5:30am with my kids. Since the game is at night, I will record it and watch it tomorrow morning over a pancake breakfast... we also gain an hour tonight here, but that means tomorrow I will be up at 4:30am instead of 5:30.

Putting up my Michigan flag right now.  Gonna head to the farmers market here in AA before the crowds start arriving in town.  Then maybe get some raking and yardwork done.  We'll then cook up a dish for the tailgate we're going to.  And then head toward the Big House.  Beautiful  game day weather.  It doesn't get better than this, folks!

Kids last soccer game, back home for lunch and some golf with Sparty brother in law, then home to watch the end of any nooners, regroup for tailgate, then a Spartan bloodbath. A pretty good Saturday really.

Up early this morning because some jockstrap driving a semi-truck dragged his trailer down our gravel road and turned around in the cul-de-sac right in front of my bedroom.  Probably BuckeyeChuck making up for his reasonable post yesterday.  Asshole.

Anyway...  I need to repair the wife's duck pond - the pump discharge hose sprung a leak and sprayed water over the fence instead of into the filter.  I'd also like to get to the local amusement park and partake in some roller coaster activity early this afternoon.  Maybe PSU will keep the game interesting in the second half, so I can finish it?

Gonna get a bit of housework done today before tonight. Painted the deck in the backyard last Sunday but a few spots need some touch ups which I plan on taking care of today. If there’s time, I might rake up the front yard as well. We’ve got 25 pine trees on our property which means this time of year, everything is covered in pine needles.

Please, universe. Do is a solid and give us a nice, smooth, calming 49-3 beat down. No Sparty juju nonsense. No bush league cheap shots. Just step on their throats from the get go and don’t let up.

Been up since before four, at a hotel room far from home. Heading to sons football game, but will be able to make it home to see the Michigan game. Go blue, beat sparty like a rented mule.

I've been up and at 'em since 4:30 am, dang first shift time! Watching a replay of the Women's 70.3 World Championship from yesterday, and getting psyched to do a 'brick' consisting of treadmill and stationary bike sessions in a bit. I have to work 7a-7p tonight, so it will be nice to have the game to watch when it's time to work!

Oil change on the wife’s car. Grocery shopping with her and taking groceries to her parents. Culver’s to make my daughter happy because she’s pissed that It’s her brothers turn to go to the game (who by the way, never, never lies to us but I know is hiding being sick right now). Heading to Ann Arbor at 3:30 with him. Eat some sandwiches and argue with him about taking his coat into the game. Enjoy the game, have him fall asleep on the way home while I enjoy the post game. Have him admit to being sick tomorrow morning and get blamed for having him out in the cold. It will be worth it.

Well, I am already up.

You may ask - why is that, Lorne?

Well, Home Depot decided to deliver my replacement cabinet doors (the previous set having been misdrilled) at 7:45 AM this morning.

So, I am swilling coffee and staying up. I just need to decide which noon and 3:30 PM game to watch now.

I’m going to hit the garage gym and work out shortly after I finish my XL tim hortons coffee. After that do a little work around the house and hope psu beats osu

get food prepared and probably let the beer flow around 4pm or so today.

We have a 5 week old newborn so the beer drinking is constrained lol.

We are having wonderful Fall weather out here on the Great Plains of South Central Kansas. Yesterday was a "walk 18 holes" day. So this morning is a "bike 25 miles" day. Will head out in a few-9 CT. Should be back in time to catch most to the early game(s)-OSU vs PSU...and the rest that follow.

Michigan retains control of its own destiny-only really care about our Wolverines winning today.

My wife had a preterm labor scare and went to the ER last night (fortunately everything is ok), so was up til 2am yesterday. My 2 yo daughter didn't get the memo and still woke up at 730, so going to be crushing hard on coffee until I switch to red bull bombs!

Probably spend the day organizing the house for baby #2, and my MIL asked for help pulling stakes from her garden. I've got some ectogasm on deck, as well as a various and sundry assortment of other IPAs and lagers I picked up. Probably catch up with my MSU brother (we have a respectful sports relationship) before the game.

In Vienna staying with a friend who has breast cancer, eager to watch the Crystal Palace game, then the OSU-PSU game, then see how ambitious/awake I feel to stay awake until 5 to watch us beat MSU. (Please God -- last time I stayed awake to 5 am here in Europe to watch the MSU game, I ended up regretting it immensely).

Getting my son some new basketball shoes, signing my daughter up for volleyball, watching PSU-OSU which I think will be more competitive than most expect, calling my pops (MSU grad to talk some light-hearted trash), then hoping for a blowout but expecting a nerve-wracking affair against little bro.
