Someone must have talked to him about his pronunciation of "Notre Dame" after Saturday........I personally thought it was pretty cool how he was saying it.
September 9th, 2010 at 1:33 AM ^
He was doing the John Saunders - "Notre" the French way and "Dame" the English way. I like that way better, too.

Thanks for posting this! He seems like a great kid and I'm happy for him that he had such a great debut.

genuine after meeting his mom and dad at the Victors Walk on Saturday. What a humble and genuinely nice couple!

Every time I see him he just makes me smile. I can see how the kid must be so infectious as a leader.

By the end of the interview I just had a huge goofy smile on my face.

... mainly because I think we need to focus on the long term. But I have to admit there is an amazingly genuine quality to the kid that makes him so likable it's hard not to root for him. Here's to hoping for only the best for him in football and in life and to hoping he retains that special quality.

What do you mean by long term? He can easily be long term if he keeps up what he did against UConn. Maybe it's just me.
September 8th, 2010 at 12:21 AM ^
"Long term" has to start sometime. Saturday was as good a time as any. I plan to continue to enjoy the glow of this win, and will continue to enjoy every win this season. I'm not saying Denard is the best QB in college football, but he sure played like it on Saturday. If he continues to play that way, his body of work will speak for itself. If he doesn't, this weekend was still a lot of fun.

Denard just played his first game as a sophomore. He has almost 3 full seasons left at Michigan. How exactly is that not long-term? I think everyone was thinking long-term with Denard, which is why we are so excited he showed this much improvement so early.

Why does everything have to by hyperbole? There were 113,090, that's not nearly 114,000. Just say 113,000. Fucking t.v. people.
September 8th, 2010 at 12:44 AM ^
to be fair, percentage-wise, it is almost 114,000. It's like 98% of 114,000. That's pretty close!
September 9th, 2010 at 9:16 AM ^
It's like 99.2%

Just like Desmond.

you look pretty fast, did it for me! I had a huge grin watching him talk. The way he said Notre Dame was too funny.

Apparently in Deerfield Beach they favor the actual French pronunciation. He's gotta translate for us Midwest hayseeds. Code switching, I believe, is what the professionals call it.
