I think Rod Marinelli got more love in Detroit in 2008 than Kiffin's getting now.  At least Marinelli had an excuse with his untalented roster (minus #81).  Kiffin's got 4 and 5 star recruits.  The incompetence is astonishing.

Speaking of Lions, Joique and Reggie do resemble the "Thunder and Lightning" of LEndale White and Reggie back at USC.  Lions may actually be a playoff team this year.

If you watch the end of the Washington St. game, you'd expect Kiffin to be a smug asshole in the postgame handshakes but he actually had a short conversation with Mike Leach ended with a classy handshake and even sought out Wazzu's QB and congratulated him. It almost seems like he knows he is a lame duck.

In June, Haden said this:

“I anticipate the media will ask me if our football coach is on the hot seat this year. Here is my answer, and it will be my answer whenever I’m asked: He is not. I’m behind Lane Kiffin 100 percent. I have great confidence in him. He’s a very hard-working, detail-oriented coach. He’s a dynamic play-caller in my estimation, and he’s an exceptional recruiter. He knows USC and he knows what it takes to be successful here.”

You don't go from that to firing someone in two games.  Unless USC has a complete implosion, Kiffin will be around next year.

But I thought Kiffin was a good coach who was going to return USC back to prominence.  I mean, look at what he did while at Tenn....  I mean, in the NFL with the Rai.....

The head coach for USC in 2014 will be Denver Broncos defensive coordinator and USC alum Jack Del Rio.  Haden will circle the wagons with this hire, bring one of the boys from the good ole days in to coach.  If Jeff Fisher had any inkling to leave the NFL, he'd be the one, but that's not gonna happen.
