Clutch 2 out hitting and stranding Louisville on 2nd and 3rd base over and over again was a beautiful thing to watch! Bakich winning the first two games as the three seed - unforgivable and fireable stuff.

They were excellent. Really balanced effort. Great pitching from multiple pitchers despite an inconsistent strike zone. Should Louisville advance to the final will be a tough out but all credit to our men in blue.

I believe this is because college teams don’t have a deep rotation of starting pitchers for these weekend series. If they have at most 3 good starters, that extra elimination game Sunday morning that 1 loss teams must play leaves the cupboard bare for the regional final.

It's a grand and crazy game. So this team sputters along all year and is left for dead in the water. And now they have won 9 of their last 11-including 8 out of 10 against the best of the B1G and now the Regional. Go Blue!

Not to get ahead of ourselves but #5 Texas AM are struggling with Louisiana who is a pesky team. Obviously lots of baseball to be played.

One little tidbit...

I believe the win today means that Willie Weiss would NOT be available for an (if needed) Monday game as that would be the 4th game of the suspension.

If we win tomorrow, he would then also miss the opener of the super-regional.

Beyond the  obvious reasons why this was a BIG game another important reason why this was HUGE is because it guarantees Michigan the Regional Final which means at WORST UM will be tied for 17th in baseball for the NCAA Directors cup...one more win and its a gtd 9th finish...these points might be the deciding points between Michigan and Stanford for First place
