Pretend it's a car crash, and look away.

Sorry... I coach (girls) in the same league he plays in, and figured I would share the info.
My fault for assuming the title of "Eli Brooks goes 40/20" was an indication that he scored 40 points and had 20 rebounds.

i know... visiting a sports blog at 7:30 AM does not mean one has actual sports knowledge...

40 points on 20 shots equivalent, which I thought was pretty insane. I think 40 shots and 20 rebounds is still pretty awesome too.

Thanks for the edit--and for posting the link in the first place.

I thought it was a walk-on QB recruit that went 40 / 20.
I thought to myself: "A 200 % passer and he's only a walk-on? Damn that Harbaugh is a demanding son of a bitch."

I've lurked here for years and just recently decided to start posting. This board can be so touchy on posts. It's kind of funny at times, but man it gets brutal, haha.

... he becomes a 4star. I don't know how static basketball recruiting rankings are, maybe a good stretch would elevate that

He plays in a mid-tier division in Pennsylvania, so his competition is not top-notch or high-profile. So even if he, say, averages 30 points a game, it won't cause his rankings to sky-rocket.
Not say he isn't a good player. People thought he was going to Villanova before he signed with Michigan.
But unless he blows up in the camps/AAU after high school, he'll likely move up a bit but stay a 3-star.

I do like this from the story.
"The Rockets held a tedious 39-37 lead with two minutes left in the third quarter."
Good to see another "tedious" game was being played last night, along with our game with Penn State.

Michigan basketball recruit Eli Brooks scores 40 points and grabs 20 rebounds in a two point victory over a previously unbeaten opponent.

When I read this I had the following thoughts:
1. If this kid is a Michigan commit - HOORAY! Great job - glad he's coming our way.
2. If this kid is a commit to somebody else - Damn it - we could use a player like this
3. And if this kid was somebody we are targeting and hope to land - I'm sure he'll enjoy his experience at Duke or Kentucky.

I suppose he's a long way from being a five star or a one and done guy. Thats when it gets tough to keep the bagmen from the perennial top 5 teams away. s

We gotta get some worthwhile bigs. Wagner is nice, Wilson is nice, but we have no bench depth and Donnal is horrible.

frustrating

I thought this was about a change in a commit's visual acuity.
