This is bad.  Jim H is trying to get the program rolling and one of his hand picked guys pulls a no-no like this.

I'm forgiving of 1st offenses where there are no injuried, but many folks are not.

Minick should be let go depending on BAC results.

Can't have this kind of thing be tolerated especially with your own handpicked people.

We can't underestimate how critical Minick is to Harbaugh. He's essentially Harbaugh's gatekeeper, and is a critical part of keeping Jim's house in order. All assumptions of guilt or innocence aside, if Harbaugh is forced to part ways, there could be some unseen consequences behind the scenes.

Great news. Mgoblog has really had me feeling good with "Norfleet leaving" "Countess leaving" "No Norfleet isn't leaving" not their fault but agh.

Fire his ass. Something like this for someone in his position is inexcusable, and is yet one more black eye on our athletic department.

For the type of money he's making, seriously, get Uber, man.

...he has to go. The long term value of dismissing one of his oldest friends for violating the law in this way likely exceeds any practical value he has to the program. "Do as I say, not as one of my most trusted confidants does" simply doesn't cut it. There's a reason people can smell a double standard a mile away. It's because it stinks so bad. Besides, a retired Marine colonel should know better. If alcohol is found to be in his system but below the legal limit, I believe a stern conversation is still in order. "Excellence" right?

He absolutely should know better. As an leader of Marines he would have given hundreds of weekend liberty briefs before sending his Marines off for a few days. Every one of these briefs are mostly talks about drinking and driving. As a NCO and then SNCO I would give out my home number to my Marines and tell them to call me any at any hour if they had to much to drink and I knew most officers would to. As a commanding officer he would have personally handed out harsh punishment to those busted. In the Marine Corps this is a career ender. I knew many good Marines who were kicked out or not allowed to reenlist because they got busted. Some of them even reduced to the rank of Private then sent to Iraq for one more deployment then separated once the deployment was over. Very disappointing that he choose not to follow his own advice that I know he gave to the Marines he led.

Agreed, but most in the military know that most of that is window dressing.  If you're connected or a "performer" a DUI is kep quiet if it's at all possible.  Then the others get crucified when they get caught, so appearrances can be maintained.  Minick may have thought he was going to be fine as he was connected and knew nothing was ever really going to happen to him.

I would also argue that the message gets repeated so many times that eventually people tune it out.

I guess I didn't even know who this guy was until today. How many people does JH have working for him? What does a Director of Football Ops do?

Anyway, I suspect he'll be let go if the investigation does indeed confirm DUI. Pretty much no way JH will be able to to keep him on.
