Tyree Jackson: QB Muskegon Mona Shores (EDIT)
He's an under the radar recruit that has only been offered by Buffalo and Eastern Michigan. He's always had the potential and this year his frame has filled out and his game has skyrocketed to the point that all big time programs should be giving him a look. His ceiling is higher than Malzone and quite frankly from what I've seen he is already a step ahead of Alex. We are late to the party but I'm quite certain a Michigan offer at any point for an under the radar recruit can be enough to bring him into the fold. Future is very bright for this kid and it's about time we jump in on the recruitment of Tyree Jackson.

he seems to be a bit more athletic and bigger than Malzone. I don't know if he is, and watching his tape he isn't necessarily that fast either. I think this guy is hoping he fills out be like Dak Prescott and I think this kid could be good, but I wouldn't want to say that he has that type of upside since Dak's ability is really rare.

The coaching staff should coach/act like they're going to be here for the long haul. If they think he's deserving of an offer, he should be offered. You can't just put everything off until everything is solidified. Michigan just offered a bunch of 2016 and a couple 2017 prospects, and that's what they should be doing.
If a new coaching staff is hired, it's their job to sort through the recruiting situation.

under these circumstances. They're not showing any desperation to fill out this class. If they are going to be back, they'll be in a much stronger position when that's confirmed. I think they are in a holding pattern in terms of sending out 2015 offers. Everything else should be close to normal, as it appears to be.

I totally disagree. Even if they're given the go-ahead to return in 2015, Hoke will be on the hottest of hot seats after their performance this year.

Not diminishing anything about Alex Malzone, very excited for him to come to Michigan. I'm simply saying that Jackson is a special talent. I've watched every game this season and if you want to talk about playing against top talent look at his performance against a perennial powerhouse program in the Muskegon Big Reds.

He is a little bigger and less athletic, but has a decent arm and can run the option. As far as better than Malzone, I would say his competition is out matched against this guy and it is hard to compare since Malzone plays good teams. If we offer him he might work out. He would also be a good option if we bring in a new OC that wants to have a dual threat guy.

He is currently 6'5 and 210 pounds. Watch him throw the ball this year and tell me his size is the only reason I see an upside to this guy.

You already stated that you are on the west side of the state. That means you probably haven't seen Malzone play. So how then can you make a comparison?

There are plenty of other options besides Jackson in that case. And who transfers? Spreight? Morris?
There's no point in offering the guy in such a small class. Not when UM has other needs like CB and safety.

This sounds like you're making up excuses for not offering a guy that you, personally, just don't want.
Michigan has plenty of room in this class to take a QB if they want another one. There are no safeties graduating after this year, and we're bringing in Tyree Kinnel. Two corners (Raymon Taylor, Delonte Hollowell) are graduating, but we have a decent set of returnees (Countess, Stribling, Peppers) and several spots in the class.
Michigan's roster has been filled to the point where almost every spot is a luxury right now. You can afford to take the best available player at a lot of spots.

another QB. If you are going to take a flyer on a QB take a flyer on a guy who can potentially play multiple positions.
Can this guy do that? Could he play at TE ala Riemersma?

I don't know. I've never seen him play TE. He's 6'4" or 6'5" and 210 lbs., so I guess the answer would be "yes" if he added weight.

You don't need to be much of an athlete to be a tight end. Look at A.J. Williams.
Seriously, there's no great way to project whether a QB can play another position other than running back, because the skills a QB displays do not relate to anything else. You don't see them catching the ball, blocking anybody, tackling anybody, etc. If you're a D-I athlete with the size to play tight end, you can probably play tight end.

I've always thought it strange that in the most important position in the sport you only take 1 shot a year. You can't do 2 a year because you'd have a train wreck of backups but I'd do it every other year or at worst every 3rd year. Yes you will get a transfer out of someone not happy down the road but I'd rather take 2 shots at the most important position on the field over a guy who usually ends up on the scout team as a S or LB.

Personally, I think they should continue throwing quarterbacks at the team until they find someone who can perform. Bellomy can't get it done (and might be gone by next year), Morris's performance has been highly questionable, and we have yet to see Speight or Malzone against college competition. You have to have options and create competition.

You write as if you are MgoMelKiper. But we don't know you. You don't have an established record like Magnus. You are just some guy expressing his opinion yet you expect us to give your words the credence of a professional scout.
