Two different NFL draft broadcasts: ESPN & ABC
Apparently the ESPN and ABC broadcasts of the NFL draft will have a different focus. The ESPN broadcast will focus on the NFL team and how the player fits/fills a need. The ABC broadcast will feature College Game Day (not sure if the whole crew will be there) and focus more on the player and his journey to the draft.
Pretty cool idea, IMO. I'll probably tune in to ABC to check it out.
I paused YouTubeTV until labor day, so I'm just glad it's on ABC, which I can get via free radio waves.
I wont watch ESPN ,guys like Booger are incredibly racist ,somehow ESPN lets them get away with it .Last night he said "how can people think about drafting a white QB these days" can you imagine if Mel Kiper said "you shouldnt draft a QB ,based on the color of his skin"
The real outrage is anti-white racism, huh, Tucker? Jesus. What is wrong with people?
Cmon. Racism is racism. Regardless of which “side” you are on.
I mean okay, sure, it's not as bad as if a White commentator had said that about Black QBs. But injecting race into these discussions, even when done in jest, is still racist, offensive, and incredibly distasteful.
Instead of reacting to anti-Black racism by perpetuating tired and cringe-worthy memes about how lame and unathletic White people supposedly are, how about we just avoid racist rhetoric altogether? I like that idea. And I say this as a proud POC whose race, ethnicity, and skin color are not anywhere close to being White.
EDIT: I highly doubt that Booger actually said this. However, casual racist remarks that ridicule the supposed lameness of White people are indeed all too common. Granted, they're not nearly as offensive as analogous remarks about Black people or other POCs, but that doesn't make them okay or not distasteful.
I doubt he said that. But then again his name is Booger.
I just searched "Booger White Quarterback" on Twitter...something I never thought I'd say/search and there is not a single hit.
I'll keep digging, but I feel like if he said that, it would be all over social media, there would be an apology, and he probably wouldn't be on TV right now.
The closest thing I can find was last year he said Zach Wilson grew up with a lot of money and has never had to be accountable.
...which is a shot a rich people, not white people, unless you want to reach and talk about how the majority of rich people (in the US) are white.
But I can't find anything, if someone does, I'd be interested to see it.
Edit...still searching, nothing.
Edit #2...I looked on social media and Googled the man's name. Nothing.
Spreading false rumors about a man’s character ranks up there on the bad things to do list.
Spreading false rumors about a man’s character ranks up there on the bad things to do list.
Worth repeating!
lol, "incredibly racist"...compared to, kinda racist? A tad bit racist?
Mildly.....moderately. Not David Duke racist. More like just plain ol' Jon Gruden style
Yeah, going to need a citation for "how can you think about drafting a white QB these days" claim considering that would be a pretty big talking point if it happened "last night".
Where are the SNL Jimmy the Greek clips?

Serious question - who is booger? The only one I know is the dude from revenge of the nerds.

You have video?
Last night he said "how can people think about drafting a white QB these days"
Sounds like you're lying to push a weird narrative. Deserves a trip to Bolivia, IMO
either that or he got duped by a fake social media account (Thanks, Elon).
either way, you are correct. It's harmful, hurtful and no room for it.
I think this is a better way to do it than trying to combine both types of coverage on one channel. Personally, I'm more into the football stuff, and I've found myself gravitating to the NFL Network's coverage in recent years for that reason. I don't really need to hear every guy's sob story (however inspiring) to get interested, but I guess if you're trying to make draft coverage tolerable for more casual fans it serves a purpose.
More Herbstreit. How awesome.
I’m currently on the NFL network. I needed to hear Steve Marriuci tell us again that he used to coach Steve Young.
So is this going to be THEE post? I'd hate for someone to create yet another one. Maybe one of the moms could change the title...
They've been doing this for at least 4 years, lol.
I believe 2019 was the first draft they did the Gameday on ABC and traditional NFL crew on ESPN.
Didn't know that. I usually just tune into ESPN by default. 🤷♂️
Same, I've tried the ABC version but it never feels the same.
I usually click over when ESPN is doing an interview and it gets awkward.
Usually I watch the NFL network and ESPN. Might have to check out the ABC one but prefer how they fit as opposed to their journey.
The A-10s were a little late; I figure if F-16s or F-15s would have been used, they would have been on time lol
Daniel Jeremiah, Charles Davis, Rich Eisen, and Joel Klatt on the NFL network. Good group!
Yeah, the NFl Network guys do the best job.
Though I do love me some Mel Kiper, Jr
Can't wait for next year from Hart Plaza!
I guess Paul Rudd wasn't available.
Maybe the Lions can do that entrance next year...
This crap is absolutely unwatchable.
I get the feeling this draft is not going to be like I mocked it...
The draft (broadcasts) deserve to get mocked.
Stroud already looks like he's crying....
He might be; word on the street is he's going to be waiting a bit...
Lies! Damn Lies, and NFL Insiders!
Why does ESPN insist on sticking with guys like Corso and Mort? No disrespect to the guys, they are legends in their field but it’s time to hang it up.
Seriously. If they’re going to stick to this program at least lean in hard and give us hologram Keith Jackson.
And Shams is spoiling NFL draft picks. Don't think Schefter will play Woj in this sport's draft.
He's wrong on this one lol
You know what I love? The OSU QB highlight reel doesn’t include the Michigan game.
I came here to post that very thing.
An OSU QB going 2nd overall that didn't beat Michigan.
Stroud will prove to be a bust. Not being a homer, he’s soft.
Dang, Texans making out big time!
The price was steep.
Trade terms Arizona sends No. 3 and No. 105 Houston sends No. 12 and 33 along with a 2024 first-round pick and a 2024 third-round pick
I wonder how Caleb Williams feels about being drafted by Arizona next year.
