Twitter reacts to Harbaugh's hiring on Don Brown (Hint: You will love this)

Thought this deserved its own thread.

SI is reporting that #Michigan has hired #BC's Don Brown as Wolverines new defensive coordinator. That'd be a terrific hire for Jim Harbaugh

RIP Big Ten. Brown is a mad scientist. https://t.co/8vOCiBuDFl

Crazy thing about Don Brown's defenses is even going back to UConn they've been insanely good and never paired with even a decent offense.

— Mark Ennis (@MarkEnnis) December 20, 2015

Everyone can have their own opinion but I don't think there's a better defensive coordinator in college football. https://t.co/FuKWGBFFU3

Just to reiterate what @MarkEnnis has been saying, Don Brown is that good. I'd take him over Venables, Smart, anyone. He's the best.

Michigan made an outstanding hire in Don Brown as defensive coordinator. About as good a hire as they could have made.

#Wolverines just hit a major home run in the DC hire of Don Brown. Grand Slam.

— Mike Farrell (@rivalsmike) December 20, 2015

Other than Virginia Tech retaining Bud Foster, Don Brown (Michigan) and Greg Schiano (Ohio State) two best staff additions on defense.

Michigan got really good today with the hiring of Coach Don Brown! The B10 should be afraid, very afraid...

I have an absolute pit feeling in my stomach for having lost Don Brown. But great for him to go to Michigan. You can't say no to that job.

Quick CFB note: Michigan reportedly hiring Don Brown as DC. That's a HUGE get. Brown consistently puts top defenses on the field.

Don Brown isn't a good defensive coordinator, he's a GREAT defensive coordinator. Huge for Michigan. https://t.co/PAA6PV3phZ

Michigan…this is what you are getting in Don Brown. Results. https://t.co/Z7WURpPP6R

Terrific hire by Harbaugh. Top D in the country in 2015. RT @ThayerEvansSI: Boston College DC Don Brown will be Michigan's new DC per source

— Bryan Fischer (@BryanDFischer) December 20, 2015

Don Brown has directed lots of kick-ass defenses paired with substandard Os at BC and UConn. That looks like a very good hire by Harbaugh.

Guys,

This is OT, and I would make a board post, but I don't have enough points. Rashan Gary's mom legitimately responds on Cleveland.com articles! Specifically, she's trashing the bucknuts who call her an overbearing helicopter mom for trashing o$u's academic presentation. It's quite funny.

Caveat: I cannot 100% confirm it's her (it's a comment section), but the user goes by the name Jennifer Coney-Shepherd and definitely sounds like she'd be his mom. And this is the SECOND time I've seen her post on this site.

Here's the link:

1. How many times OSU has beaten Michigan in last 13 years. 2. Urban Meyers record at OSU vs. Michigan 3. Latest OSU vs. Michigan score, OSU with the 42 of course, UM with the 13 4. OSU's win/loss record for the last 4 years combined 5. Number of times UM seniors enjoyed beating a OSU team.

Just chuckling a bit - 24 hrs ago almost no one here knew Brown and now greatest hire evah!

On many posts comparing BC to UM defenses all fall people here said BC was a total fraud because they stuffed their stats with 2 FCS teams and UM stats were legit.  Now BC is a powerhouse D.  Etc

I think he looks like a solid coach and has seen a lot.  I expect 2016 D to be good as its stacked at DL and 2 All Americans at DB.  We'll see what he does in 2017 when he has a young D.  This is the same guy who Hackenberg went 34/50 for 371 yds, 4 TD 0 INT a year ago at this time.

Reading up on him the past hour he focuses a lot on run D and has havoc defenses but traditionally has been weak on the back end.  So as long as we can marry him to a good set of defensive backs he should do quite well with UM type talent.

I like what he did with the 2015 BC defense - it looks very good.  I hope its the rule and 2014 and 2013 were aberrations.  (2014 D was mediocre on all advanced stats)

Happy to accept a day of downvotes.  Again he looks like a solid coach.  And I expect him to do well with UM 2016 D.  Is he a material upgrade over Mattison?  I don't know.  He is more aggressive it seems.  We'll see in 2017 when he isnt handed a defense loaded with upperclass talent how he does.  Again, I expect him to do well next year.

If anything, it actually becomes an insult to Alum96, because it now appears he's replying to a comment that is critical of Alum96's comment by calling it mysoginy, which in turn could be suggesting Alum96 is a woman. However, trying to insult a man by calling him a woman is indeed mysoginy, therefore turning SalvatoreQuatro into the true mysogynist here.
