Any secondary confirmations? Just curious if anyone besides Bucci and Michael Spath see this as a done deal.

Let's get Andrew Dakich excited!

The active Phis are in the semifinals, so hopefully in addition to raising the most money for Mott Children's Hospital, we can make it back to the mud and beat down the mud bowl club.

I want the game to go back to the PDT v. SAE matchup like when brother E. Reed Low first challenged the house across the street to the game, but I think the logistics at this point with SAE losing their charter to nationals makes that situation a little difficult.

You should be damn proud of your record, even with the SAE refs screwing you with the pass interference call.

Phi Delt alumnus here

As was said above, a "private" group has now taken over and is organizing the mudbowl. The event still benefits UM Mott Children's Hospital. Any group of students can fundraise to participate in the Mudbowl, but only the top several made it to the play-in round robin. Here is a link to the fundraiser site - https://www.crowdrise.com/83rd-annual-michigan-mudbowl1

6th Grade Here

Pretty much the same thing happened with me. Teachers got pulled to hear the news and classmates were slowly pulled from school. My brother and I were really confused when we saw my dad standing in the family room. He works for Chrysler in Auburn Hills and was sent home because that building was a potential target in the hours after the planes hit.

My four years as a student began with Rich Rod's hiring, so Denard was a welcomed bit of excitement and positivity in an otherwise down time of the program's history.

Here's a good article in the Detroit News from last summer about the impact of a shutdown.

http://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/michigan/2015/08/03/soo-loc…

The MacArthur Lock was shut down for maintenance last year and the Poe had to take on smaller ships in addition to the freighters. Backups happened which is where the cost to the economy begins.

Lansing had 2 inches when I

Lansing had 2 inches when I woke up this morning. It was clear until 9:30 or so and it hasn't really let up all day. Can't tell how much snow we've gotten yet but supposed to have 5-8 inches.

I'd rather us not be a #1

I'd rather us not be a #1 seed. Historically, UM and the field as a whole play better as a 2 or 3 seed than a 1. If you've read Blue Ice from JUB, he discusses something known as the Terrier Curse, where UM historically has played worse and lost as a favorite, but won as the underdog.

Recent grad here (2012), Squad always had decent food, nothing special. I only ate there on weekends when West Quad's dining hall was closed and I couldn't do the burrito bar.

Best food days in general were chicken tenders, mac and cheese, and of course chicken broccoli bake.

No doubt the contribution from East Lansing.

It's like someone went to a high school shop class and put together a bunch of the scrap pieces.

Now that I think about it, I

Now that I think about it, I believe this is the one I was remembering about above. The game against the Irish must have been in the CCHA playoffs that year or a few weeks before this one.

I have to add one more - my last game as a senior at Yost. The players came over to thank us during their victory lap and when that all finished, our entire staff jumped on the ice for the alma mater and sang with the crowd. Once things cleared out a little more, we went out to center ice to take a few pics and kiss the block M. I was one of two senior student workers that was there for all four years and it was a surreal moment, something I will always cherish.

1. UTL I, I will never

1. UTL I, I will never forget. Senior year, great seats right on the 20, row 3.

2. The one bright spot of my freshman year, the comeback against Wisconsin in 2008.

I worked at Yost while I was a student so I have a lot of hockey moments on my list. These two stand out the most for me:

3. Carl Hagelin's OT goal against Notre Dame in 2011, I believe it was the last home game that year. I remember standing in the NW corner with a few coworkers and Scooter Vaughn's mom (not sure why she wasn't with the parents section). Everyone expected the game to go to a shootout and Hagelin broke the tie. I can still hear the crowd.

4. FYS game at Yost - I was standing in the zamboni corner and couldn't see the play happen after Kampfer's hit. That place was ready to explode (and did in Mr. Kampfer's case).

Agree that tackle should be pushed back. In US hockey, checking doesn't start until you're a pee wee (11-12 year olds).

Hockey is a poor analogy bc as you state, head to head contact rarely if ever occurs. Most hockey injuries I have seen are wrists, collar bones, and ankles. Fighting does not happen outside of the professional level unless you count the occasional shoving matches in front of the net.

Plus Larkin being 19 is better suited for the 3v3 format the NHL is using this year than Z. Not sure why John Scott from the Yotes is going because from discussions I've had with friends he is more of an enforcer style player and that does not work in 3v3...

Honestly, the only other name I've ever heard floated was Billy Powers. Brian Wiseman has only been around the program a few years but I don't see him as ready to take on the job just yet. I don't know who else would be available or interested, but I'm not as well connected as others.
