TVH: Jibreel Black Update
Just got word from a source that, "It's looking good," with Jibreel Black. They didn't want to say anything else, for whatever reason. Black is still in AA, should be leaving soon.
I don't know how to read into this, but I will tell you the source is someone that's there, so take it FWIW.

Also, some perspective on how Black fits into the grand scheme of things if he wants to commit: UM's coaches have been high on him for a long time. They tried like hell to get him to visit numerous times over the past year, and it never materialized until now. The red carpet treatment is out, and Black absolutely has a spot in the class if he wants it.

1. Thought for sure this was some idiot asking you for your update so it was nice that it was the real deal.
2. I thought RR didn't know we needed defense?? Oh wait he reads the board and figured that out a couple of months ago.
In all seriousness we need a little depth there so another commit in case Talbott bolts would be nice, thanks Tom.

How does Jibreel Black compare to Talbott?

But Black is listed as 25th DE while Talbott is listed as 61 DT. So it sounds like Black has more skill while Talbott is just plain bigger. Talbott's got 2 inches and quite a few pounds on Black, FWIW.

Talbott isn't that much heavier on rivals (255 to 253). Black is, in most opinions, the better prospect.

has done great the past two years finishing off recruiting classes and this year seems no different. Black and Parker would be a nice cap to this class.

Im half excited, half pessimistic because its GBW and they have a history of reporting false commitments. Hopefully a quote comes out or rivals confirms it.

His offer list isn't that impressive, but from what I've heard, the coaching staff has always had this guy high on their list. I wonder why he chose Cincinnati in the first place over some more traditional football schools. I guess he most likely saw the success they had this season, and figured (incorrectly, obviously) that Brian Kelly would stick around and try to build something.

Should we read into this any with Talbott taking a visit to NC this weekend? Would Black be a DE or 3 tech DT?

It's great that it sounds like we are getting Black, but if Talbott doesn't leave, what does that mean for Parker/Knight in terms of scholarships left?
