must be so bitter when he thinks about that Dec. 23rd news conference when Tressel, who Pryor knew had knowledge of the situation and was himself lying, said this:

We all have a little sensor within us, ‘Well, I’m not sure if I should be doing this.’ And then sometimes it gets overridden by what you think your necessity is. … I would have to think that there was no way that they just thought that (selling items) would be common practice.

Pryor sitting there taking it up the a$$ while Tressel looks like the good guy. Oh man, he must have been pissed.

What an idiot!  That wasn't a good article at all.  The SEC is a breeding ground for academic deficient and criminal scholarship players.  Could this guy be anymore bias?  Tatgate doesn't prove that the B10 is dirty.  Nope.  All it proves is that OSU would make a great SEC team.

Barnhart just confirmed what we all thought: Ohio is just like any SEC school. In fact, most of us have been screaming for years that Ohio is the SEC North school.

Total dominance only obtained by cheating. SEC and Ohio are one and the same.

Thanks Tony for stating the obvious. The Big10 academically superior schools will continue to look down our noses at you and UM will resume beating the shit out of the SEC again.

With all the little "legal" issues so many of his players have had, law of averages says that Dantonio's gonna be put in Tressel's situation sooner or later. Given the incredibly high moral standard he demands from his players, I don't see him racing to the compliance department to bust one of them...

Let's say JT keeps his job and does not resign/get fired. They (media/NCAA) would be watching and questioning his every move. There no way I would like to operate this way, plus the negative recruiting to boot.

And as for Urban replacing him....No way a big coach is going near that job until they come out of the other side of the sanctions.

OSU with or without sanctions is still one of the premier jobs in the country.  Some coaches might pass on it due to sanctions but I'm guessing there's a good amount that would go there even with upcoming sanctions.

The catch is if Tressell gets fired or steps down, when does that happen?  The closer you get to the start of the season the harder it will be to find a replacement.  That's a real odd time of the year to hire a new coach or for a coach to leave their current job.

they'd almost have to go with an interim for the year, wouldn't they? the choices are basically urban or richrod at this time of the year. they'll already be preparing to play the first 5 games without tressel (though obviously he'll be doing everything except stand on the sidelines).

on going with a figurehead.  To bring in an Urban Meyer or RR, they would almost have to leave the assistants in place and continue to run a very similiar offense and defense that Tressell was running.  With only the practices in August for the players to get used to someone new would probably be a really awkward situation.

that really believe that AD Smith  (and probably Gee) didn't know about this ???

C'mon tsio has led the nation in the number of self-reported NCAA infractions since tressel's been there.  They sure as hell know what is and what isn't a matter of record when it comes to NCAA violations.

Thre is no freaking way that tressel didn't give Smith a wink, wink, nod, nod when he found out about this.  They thought thet had a shot at the MNC and decided to roll the dice and play their INELIGIBLE players for the entire year.  Really ... tressel's going to email TP's "mentor" about this entire incident and NOT tell the AD ?    ... who the fuck is kidding who ?  This "mentor" could have done anything with this info ... but no tressel trusted him, not his boss !

No ... no tressel will be gone because if the NCAA finds out the real story, then the entire tsio athletic department will be thrown out ... and probably Gee too !  Hard to blame tressel though since he figured this out way back in the Youngstown State days and damn ... ya know he would have gotten away with it ... except for that genius recruit Terelle Pryor !

for this kind of broad-brush treatment. Add Iowa/rhabdo, allegations of MSU payoffs (see Auburn), Izzo's recent hand slap, our own recent travails (earned or no), no average fan will see much difference, shriek though we may. They can be forgiven for thinking that it's all dirty, in some ways be right. (Any analogies between the nation's two big political parties may in fact be apt.)

More reason to resent that lemon-sucking sweatervest for bringing this on the league, though, at a time when the B10 really had a chance to put some distance between itself and an SEC sinking in scandal.

While it is enjoyable to watch what is happening in Columbus for any Michigan fan.  I think we should just shut up and get out of the way while the whole thing collapes.  Their arrogance over the last number of years in beating Michigan, will be their downfall.

I love what is going on at OSU but for a SEC blowhard like Barnhart to running his cheating ass mouth is stupid. He calls games in the SEC that has more DIRT than any school in the country. By Barnharts comments that means 10 coaches in the SEC should be fired.

This could be 100 times worse than anyone realizes. The athletic department was put on 5 year probation from the basketball team in 2006. What happens to an athletic department when they commit a major violation, while on probation from another major violation?

....as follows:

Nothing would please the rabid Wolverine in me more than seeing Tressel get his walking papers, but here's the question I have - how does OSU keep him on and even look remotely credible before its potential recruits?

Unless they are really that upside down and Tressel can in fact fire Gee, can you send this man to a kid's house with this on his head and expect him to sell the program? I think his position is pretty much untenable at this point. Officially, his credibility is now zero.
