Bama is a mulligan blue blood and Georgia isnt in their division. If the BIG TEN didnt have its head up its ass they also would have their Gerogia, Bama, Florida in the same division.

Hell Bama and Georgia's best bet is if they lose a game is to lose the division with it so you get to stay home and enjoy your bye week before the playoff.

I don’t see it that way.  He saw an opportunity to be a part of the Saban coaching tree instead of the Freeman coaching sapling.  A solid year or two at Bama will pay dividends for him if he wants to be a head coach or OC in the NFL.  He’s still young and will likely need one lower tier head coach gig before a major one.  If he is successful at Bama and Freeman doesn’t work out, ND will definitely be calling in 3 years.  I really think this is an excellent move for him and a no brainer resume builder.

Which is all the more reason that if you are Tommy Rees that you go benefit from learning a thing or two from Saban whilst he's still coaching.  One thing we know for sure is that his staff is a revolving door and they never really take a step back.  Saban reloads and still finds great success.   This year was the first year in a long time that they looked like they had regressed a teeny bit and was still a fantastic season for anyone not named Alabama considering how elite they've been over the past two decades.

It seems like something is up.  Why bring in an OC that has top 25 talent that is performing at top 40 level?  ND offense seems to be under performing.  It is a solid move for Rees.  Learn a few more ways to win.  Maybe Saban knows something I don't know (besides people, football, coaching, recruiting, and finance.)

Tommy isn’t like recapping old coaching tires, like some of Nicky’s hires. Hope he can hold on to clipboards better than footballs.

Is Rees a hit name in the OC world? Not that I'm in the know on these things but I didn't even know he was a coach nor at Notre Dame till yesterday.

Not an unreasonable move. I assume he wants to be a head coach, and exposure to a different school and Saban can’t hurt his resume.  Not sure if he was considered at ND, but if he was passed over, also understandable.
