Tom Izzo is a Juggalo
This is another reason why I can live without a Midnight Madness at Michigan.
Or can I interest you in Tubby Smith wiping out on a motorcycle dressed as Shaft?

a lot of weird stuff when you win a bunch of games.

Forgive me for being possibly ignorant on the matter, but isn't the term "juggalo" in reference to ICP, not KISS?
October 25th, 2014 at 2:59 PM ^
Who on a college campus would reference KISS today?

who has never been to Hash Bash. tee hee hee

Well, Tom Izzo for one, quite obviously.
But yeah, that's KISS, which has pretty much nothing to do with ICP and the Juggaloes.
Except for the implicit Michigan Agricultural College LCD.

Midnight Madness does not require your coach to make an ass of himself. That's just Izzo's special twist on it.

Kiss have nothing to do with the Juggalos. That would be ICP, which possesses its own unique brand of crazy.

were the dudes who painted numbers on their chests to indicate how many days we hadn't beaten them in the Sports of their choosing?

Obviously KISS has nothing to do with Juggalos. But they also have almost nothing to do with coillege age students these days either. Show that picture to a kid under 18, and they will say Juggalo.

Actually, I think KISS is probably better-known among kids than ICP, even if they're old now.

And then said kid, previously under the impression he knew it all, learns something and goes, Oh.

I also really don't have a problem with this. I think it's amusing. He's clearly uncomfortable and is doing it to get a laugh out of the students. Izzo has always been engaged with MSU's student body and frankly, I think that's great. I don't like the guy or root for his team. I don't even think he's that good of a coach. But I think he approaches student-team engagement in a great way.

For me, it's not the goofy costumes but the fact that he is always the star of the show, above his players. Beilein simply would never want that.

Izzo loves..............Izzo

How dare college athletic teams do fun things and have coaches that act silly?!?!?!
October 25th, 2014 at 3:27 PM ^
get pissy if their coaches choose NOT to do fun things and act silly?!
Just because Izzo does this shit doesn't mean Hoke or Beilein have to. Just because Hoke or Beilein don't, doesn't mean Izzo can't.

This is the kind of thing that could only be taken seriously by a rival school.
October 25th, 2014 at 3:46 PM ^
Well that escalated quickly

if you're 50- something years old, maybe 5' 4" and dressed up like that, you have completely lost all self respect.

Lighten up, Francises.

don't feel the hate for izzo. its amusing. i like that he does stuff like this, though am cool with beilein not.

Not sure if that is allowed. And I completely agree with your statement.
