Today's Schedule of Games
Some interesting games today, but not as many as you would think for a Saturday in November. And it’s not even that Saturday in November when the entire SEC plays all high school teams. But still, there are some good games spread throughout the day.
Here are some highlights:
At Noon on ESPN2: Purdue at #21 Illinois. The Big Ten West is a hoot. The most fun you can have with bad football. Purdue - Illinois is for the outright lead in the Big Ten West . . . for Illinois. But if Purdue is the winner, then both Purdue and Illinois will be tied at the top of the Big Ten West (along with Minnesota), and the winner of the Wisconsin - Iowa game will also join them. Bonus game: At 3:30 PM on FS1: Wisconsin at Iowa. If Purdue wins, then take a peek at this game to see who stays on pace for the Big Ten West lead. I have no idea who will win it (and neither does anybody else), so I will go with Iowa as the home team.
In the Afternoon at 3:30 PM on ABC: Nebraska at #3 Michigan. Last week I wrote this preview about the Michigan - Rutgers game: “Michigan has established a clear trend this season . . . we crush the teams we are supposed to crush, but we take our damn good-natured time about it. There have been a bunch of blow-out wins this year that were quite uncomfortable games in the first half. So while we would all love for Michigan to get a quick 35 point first half lead on Rutgers so that JJ can practice 40 yard downfield passes to Andrel Anthony, that’s not what’s going to happen. That is not who Michigan is. And by Michigan, I mean Jim Harbaugh . . . Michigan will crush Rutgers, but they will take their damn time about it.”
Replace “Rutgers” with “Nebraska” and you have today’s write up.
Also at 3:30 PM on CBS: #9 Alabama at #11 Ole Miss. Alabama is in a very unusual position for Alabama. It’s early November and they are out of the picture for the CFP and very likely out of the picture for the SEC West. So how will Alabama play when they have “nothing to play for”? Saban’s mantra has always been “We still have all of our goals in front of us” even after a loss. And that’s been exactly right a number of times. But not now with two losses. So will just pride (and fear of Saban) be enough for Alabama to play like everything still matters? Yes, I think it will. Alabama will beat Ole Miss in Oxford.
Also at 3:30 PM on FOX: Maryland at #14 Penn State. Maryland is Ohio State-lite. And like Ohio State, they collapsed in bad weather. But I think their highly-organized proficient offense can give Penn State some trouble today in good weather. Will it be enough to beat Penn State in Happy Valley? It could very well, but I am going to chicken out and go with Penn State.
In the Evening at 7:00 PM on FOX: #25 Washington at #6 Oregon. The big game in the Pac 12. Oregon was written off early in the season after getting blown out by Georgia. Turns out that was premature . . . they are in good company with elite teams like Tennessee. They are not at Georgia’s level (who is?), but they are clearly at the level of top team in the Pac 12. Washington will make it a game for a while, but Oregon will show their class and pull away for a comfortable win.
At 7:30 PM on ABC: #4 TCU at #18 Texas. The biggest game of the day, IMO. TCU has been living on the edge, coming from behind late in the game to pull out wins over and over. That is going to catch up with them one day, and that day will be today in a night game at Texas. TCU will make a mistake late in the game and Texas will pounce and go crazy on them and win the game.
Finally, your Pac-12 After Dark Special(s) - meaningless crazy football just for the fun of it:
At 10:00 PM on ESPN: Stanford at #13 Utah. This game is Pac-12 After Dark, but it won’t be special. There won’t be any late night ju ju in this game that gives Stanford a chance for an upset. Utah will steadily overpower Stanford for the win.
At 10:30 PM on FOX: Arizona at #12 UCLA. Ditto the above. UCLA will take care of business without much Pac-12 After Dark drama.

Threadjack incoming!!! I know we have a ticket thread but this is short notice and I want to make sure to unload these before it’s to late.
I have 4 tickets to the game today that I am not going to use. Let me know if you want them. They aren’t the best seat in the house… but they’re not awful and a good price (free). Section 9 row 80.
Email me at mrtoddpacker22@ gmail
Please only email if your going to actually go and not turn around and sell them. First come first serve. Go blue!

MSU’s helmets are interesting
November 12th, 2022 at 12:10 PM ^
Pitt scores two pick six's in the first 16 seconds of the Virginia game.
Two plays in the game, two pick six's.
Woah.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:12 PM ^
I just saw it on the espn app and turned on the game to see the replay. Crazy.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:20 PM ^
Is there a guy who's tanked his draft stock more than Brennan Armstrong?
November 12th, 2022 at 12:13 PM ^
OSU way offsides. C'mon. Indiana had no chance but they don't need the refs against them
November 12th, 2022 at 12:25 PM ^
Sparty no. 4th and 1 terrible throw
November 12th, 2022 at 12:26 PM ^
Illinois has a player named Darkangelo. Sounds about right for a Bielema player.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:31 PM ^
Buckeyes not so soft they can't block Indiana.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:33 PM ^
Huskies up 7-3 against the Fighting Jerry Falwells. Win makes them bowl eligible. Go Huskies!
November 12th, 2022 at 12:36 PM ^
UConn about to be up 14-3 on Liberty.
They’ve improved.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:38 PM ^
It’s 49 degrees in AR and LSU has thermoses full of hot chocolate, chicken broth and coffee on the sideline. Can’t wait to host a home playoff game against an SEC squad
November 12th, 2022 at 12:41 PM ^
These noon games are blah.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:42 PM ^
Yep. Feels like a good time for a nap.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:43 PM ^
UConn tearing up Liberty is pretty nice
November 12th, 2022 at 12:48 PM ^
I dunno, MO is giving Tennessee some game.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:42 PM ^
Indiana is so bad at football
November 12th, 2022 at 12:42 PM ^
Buckeyes in the cold weather can do that to a team /s
November 12th, 2022 at 12:49 PM ^
If the Nuts don't give them another gift the Hoosiers might catch their bus at halftime.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:50 PM ^
Media narrative at work when showing buckeye highlights during sparty game. "His 11th touchdown, most in big 10".
Most touchdowns? Not even close, bet if you pushed he'd say "clearly I meant for his position".
November 12th, 2022 at 12:52 PM ^
Indiana tried to cover Marvin harrison with a LB.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:53 PM ^
LSU faked a punt from their own 14 yard line, barely made it and then it got called back for holding.
Ha!!!!! Now that they’re not playing Alabama, I can go back to rooting against Brian Kelly.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:55 PM ^
Stroud sucks under pressure.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:01 PM ^
OSU looks soft again.
The more you need to keep saying you are tough, the more we know you aren't.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:14 PM ^
I hate them too but they’ve got almost 300 yards of offense and it isn’t halftime yet. 160 of that is rushing.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:02 PM ^
Rutgers is hanging around. Just ripped off a 30-yard run from the shadow of their goalpost.
And then the announcer dropped a "Rochelle, Rochelle" reference! Didn't call it a "strange exotic journey" of a run though.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:09 PM ^
Rutgers moving the ball
November 12th, 2022 at 1:10 PM ^
I swear to god every time I turn on an SEC game some player is "hurt" but then they get up just fine. Is diving a strategy down there?
November 12th, 2022 at 1:10 PM ^
Touchdown Rutgers!
November 12th, 2022 at 1:11 PM ^
Lol Klatt blaming last weeks high winds for the bucknuts poor running game !!! Priceless
November 12th, 2022 at 1:11 PM ^
Rutgers with the long drive to tie.👍
November 12th, 2022 at 1:12 PM ^
Rutgers just marched 96 yards, most of it on the ground. They might have something today.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:13 PM ^
Rutgers just walked down the field on Sparty for that TD. All even at 7's
November 12th, 2022 at 1:13 PM ^
Hendon Hooker does have a really nice deep ball
November 12th, 2022 at 1:14 PM ^
Illinois runs some tempo . . .
November 12th, 2022 at 1:15 PM ^
CJ Stroud is having an average day. He's headed toward about 300 yards. But JJ McCarthy had 304 on Indiana, and it has been his only 300 yard game all year. So Stroud not really moving the needle in his Heisman chances.
Hoping Blake Corum has a huge day today, say 180-210yds, 3 TDs, and some moves that make you say "wow!"
November 12th, 2022 at 1:51 PM ^
Wasn’t UM tied with Indiana at the half? Stroud has 187 passing yards at the half with 2 TD’s. Receiver drops are hurting him, but he isn’t hurting is Heisman chances by any standard.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:17 PM ^
So is Rutger - Sharty the Keep Chopping Bowl.
They need a rivalry trophy of a tree falling on a coach.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:18 PM ^
UConn up 21-10 with a legitimate 94-yard drive.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:21 PM ^
I'm so tired of hearing about the Buckeye defense. I hope Michigan runs for 400 on them.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:23 PM ^
Garbage pi call against Rutgers giving MSU the ball at the 2. Carr pushed off much like Coleman does every time the ball gets close to create separation.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:24 PM ^
Be that as it may MSU made the RZ TD look routine.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:26 PM ^
A bit easier with extra downs.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:26 PM ^
I get where you are coming from because we slammed it into the middle over and over from the 1 or 2 when everyone knew what we were going to do but they would’ve been kicking a fg if it wasn’t for that call.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:26 PM ^
But without the penalty they would have had 4th and goal.
