[Title edit]: Harbaugh Presser lacks injury update, Corum stated Sunday he is "good to go"
Mostly flush in his Presser. Here is a link to the highlights. https://www.maizenbrew.com/football/23471323/michigan-wolverines-football-ohio-state-jim-harbaugh-press-conference-2022-season
The Columbus Dispatch has a link to an Angelique retweet of Corum saying he is good to go. https://www.dispatch.com/story/sports/college/football/2022/11/21/blake-corum-injury-might-not-keep-michigan-rb-out-vs-ohio-state/69667331007/

*fluff, sorry

I thought this was a Charmin/toilet bowl reference.

And I thought it was thrush.

Austin Meek has a quote from Ryan Hayes that many are taking to mean Corum won’t play: https://twitter.com/byaustinmeek/status/1594755691406819329?s=46&t=PZwe0BKyH6IzfC35CpAYdQ

Context is key - that answer was responding to a question specifically asking Michigan’s mentality if Blake couldn’t go. It’s more of a hypothetical as stated.
November 21st, 2022 at 10:03 PM ^
Exactly.
That one wasn't that difficult, lol.
November 21st, 2022 at 2:30 PM ^
Misleading title. Corum never tweeted anything like that.
November 21st, 2022 at 2:33 PM ^
Dang, I read Angelique‘a tweet as a retweet, but she was quoting him.
mods, if you could chance it to “Corum says he is good to go” I’d appreciate it greatly!!!!
November 21st, 2022 at 2:48 PM ^
dude, you need to slow down a bit. flush/fluff, chance/change. there's no timer here, feel free to go back and check your work before handing it in.
November 21st, 2022 at 2:55 PM ^
Agreed. No excuse.
November 21st, 2022 at 4:45 PM ^
Well there is the excitement factor. Cue the Southpark computer screen image.
November 21st, 2022 at 7:46 PM ^
I have neither given nor received aid on this examination.
November 21st, 2022 at 2:33 PM ^
Hope he and edwards are ready to go. Blake looked like he still had a slight limp
November 21st, 2022 at 3:15 PM ^
As do I, but make no mistake that I’ll be poking that dam rooster down the road at 4 am Saturday as I ice down my beer and fire up the bbq pit. Blake can take some of my energy, and my one good knee. The others bone on bone.
November 21st, 2022 at 6:30 PM ^
He can combine my one good knee with yours. My other one has a weird disease.
November 21st, 2022 at 7:27 PM ^
Does it twitch incessantly?
November 22nd, 2022 at 8:58 AM ^
Actually my legs are always moving, and that is how I got my nickname. But I wish that was the disease. Nothing debilitating, just annoying. It's called Osgood-Schlatter; no not Papa John. That's Schnatter.
November 22nd, 2022 at 10:21 AM ^
What are you grilling?
November 21st, 2022 at 3:58 PM ^
I'll take a slight limp as long as there isn't a cast, wheelchair, et al.
He has all week to heal that up.
MgoDoctors is activity like that good for a bruised knee? does that help or hinder the healing process?
November 21st, 2022 at 4:23 PM ^
It's good for the soul.
November 21st, 2022 at 4:40 PM ^
My son played with a bruised ankle/foot his senior year that made his foot look like he was a stunt double for Mr deeds. No one, coaches included could believe that he was cleared and or could play, but after it was loose there was no pain. Here’s hoping.
November 21st, 2022 at 2:40 PM ^
I'm just hoping that Schoon, Edwards, Morris & the OL are good to go @100%. Corum would be icing on the cake!
November 21st, 2022 at 2:50 PM ^
I see it as the exact opposite. I mean I hope everyone is good to go but it's clear after last Saturday our offense *literally* runs through Corum. In terms of impact, Corum's dynamic ability cannot be understated.
November 21st, 2022 at 3:07 PM ^
True, easy MVP, but Edwards is scary too, in a slightly different way. MIssing him Saturday was also quite significant.
November 21st, 2022 at 2:58 PM ^
There is no cake this Saturday without Corum.
November 21st, 2022 at 2:40 PM ^
Hayes did have an alarming quote in response to a question regarding Corum.
November 21st, 2022 at 3:00 PM ^
Please include "alarming quote."
November 21st, 2022 at 3:02 PM ^
Asked about playing without Corum, he answered "He is a great player, but we have been preparing for this situation and we all will need to step up with him out."
Not an exact quote but pretty close.
November 21st, 2022 at 3:03 PM ^
I had to go searching for it too... I don't know how to embed tweets so all I've got is the screenshot.
November 21st, 2022 at 3:23 PM ^
"We have been planning on this" i don't think any team plans on their star player getting hurt.
Sounds to me like he was trying to give the best answer he could and that's what came out. I'm not taking that quote as proof that Corum won't be ready.
Also Corum said "i'll be back" that doesn't mean I'll be back for Saturday. it doesn't mean he won't... but I don't think either of those quotes really tell us anything.
often some of the people trying to 'read the tea leaves' have been smoking too many of them first.
November 21st, 2022 at 7:54 PM ^
I think he means that they plan and prepare to play with a next man up philosophy. Injuries happen and the game still gets played with a focus on who's available (not a focus on who isn't available.) Mentally, keep playing to win when someone goes down.
November 21st, 2022 at 3:03 PM ^
I take any "alarming" quotes as fodder to keep OSU guessing. I know Corum is a great dude, but I don't think he'd be out there handing out turkeys if he's supposed to be resting up for The Game.
November 21st, 2022 at 3:03 PM ^
The question was also pertaining to a hypothetical that Corum was injured. I wouldn't read too much into it at this point
November 21st, 2022 at 3:05 PM ^
Yeah, it was just vague enough to give me a brief shudder of doom.
November 21st, 2022 at 5:06 PM ^
... and it didn't stop you from spreading FUD.
November 21st, 2022 at 5:47 PM ^
This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. Hayes said what he said. Are you so far gone that you just pretend information that you don’t like just doesn’t exist?
November 21st, 2022 at 6:29 PM ^
If that's the most "ridiculous" thing you've ever seen, you've had a charmed life.
When you're navigating the WWW (and life in general), you need to think critically. njvictor bothered to do that. You didn't.
Corum could very well have an injury that will keep him from performing well on Saturday. To date, though, no solid evidence has been posted here.
Anyway, Sparty much? The tunnel is calling you. They're just kids, right?
November 21st, 2022 at 8:05 PM ^

Stay classy.
November 21st, 2022 at 3:25 PM ^
The weirdest part of his response is "Well, I think we've been planning on this."
November 21st, 2022 at 4:41 PM ^
I think he's trying to say they knew Blake could get hurt (nature of the game, especially for a high volume running back), so they have a plan for that scenario.
November 21st, 2022 at 4:52 PM ^
Hayes was asked what would give him confidence the could play well IF Blake couldn't go. There's nothing in his response to a hypothetical scenario that definitively points to Blake being out.
November 22nd, 2022 at 11:53 AM ^
Definitive? No. but it sounded to me like he was trying to be honest but had been told not to say anything- my reading was that this did not sound good and I wasn't given any comfort in Jim's response to Jon Janzen's question to the effect of, if Blake is not available does that change the gameplan? "it might or might not"- Clearly Jon J is contemplating the possibility and Jim made no effort to question even being asked- no repeat of the "structurally sound" claim which can't really have been known from the X-ray at halftime.
It is what it is and wishing won't make any difference, though we all hope otherwise.
November 21st, 2022 at 2:48 PM ^
I don't think we'll see an injury update all week.
November 21st, 2022 at 3:10 PM ^
Harbaugh never really gives injury updates, even with Cupcake U on deck. No way he's going to say anything meaningful before this game.
November 21st, 2022 at 2:49 PM ^
Hope he's good to go, although with the way Michigan handles injury updates at this point someone could have an amputation and there'd still be no status update on their injury.
November 21st, 2022 at 2:50 PM ^
"I'm fine, I'll be back" doesnt seem to equate to "good to go" for me. Maybe its just semantics.
November 21st, 2022 at 2:57 PM ^
Yeah, I've literally seen athletes say this after catastrophic injury. All this communicates is "I will play football again some day;" it does not clarify if that day is Saturday or 18 months from now.
November 21st, 2022 at 3:04 PM ^
I don't think there is much ambiguity there. It's safe to assume he was saying that about Saturday. That, plus the fact that he was out walking around Sunday morning, suggests to me that he'll probably play.
Now whether he is close to 100% is anyone's guess.
November 21st, 2022 at 3:18 PM ^
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.
November 21st, 2022 at 2:52 PM ^
Corum didn't say he was "good to go," he said "I'll be back." Doesn't say when he'll be back.
Either way the fact that he went in the 2nd half against Illinois means he'll almost certainly play against OSU. I think Harbaugh was willing to sacrifice the Illinois game to keep everyone as healthy as possible. Losing against Illinois would've meant close to nothing in the grand scheme. It was a calculated decision to keep a ton of guys out (which included Corum after his knee was questionable).
