That looked promising off Avila's bat. Oh well. Get through this inning I guess...
October 10th, 2011 at 8:10 PM ^
the bat as well. It may not have been a hit, but at least it was a better swing from Avila than what we had been seeing.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
Get a run this inning with the top of the order.
????
Profit.
Otherwise I think we lose. Come on Jackson, get it started!
October 10th, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
Valverde gets out of it. It'd be nice to see one of the big fellas finally come through and plate themselves with one swing of the bat.
Side note: How has Cabrera not ever been talked about for a golden glove. Dude makes it look easy and is amazingly improved since when he moved to the position.

has two great relievers left in their pen and the Tigers are down to Al, Perry and Schlereth. No offense to our guys, but I don't like that matchup.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:25 PM ^
He has no idea what he's doing when he tries to be patient. Just doesn't get it yet.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:26 PM ^
You say that like being a quality MLB leadoff hitter is an easy thing to do. The fact that he is beginning to really work counts is a good start.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:33 PM ^
I'm not saying it's easy or we should give up on him by any means. I'm saying if there's one thing he needs to learn to do, that's it, because it absolutely kills him when he's facing good relief pitchers who are working on the edges more.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:27 PM ^
gotta pitch to cabby now
October 10th, 2011 at 8:27 PM ^
Don Kelly. Whodathunkit?
Come on Miggy...
October 10th, 2011 at 8:32 PM ^
just missed that.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:39 PM ^
has not been very good at all the whole season.
Edit: Yep, looks like the end of the line.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:39 PM ^
Worries me.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:43 PM ^
Game. Over.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:43 PM ^
whiff a catch! seriously!
October 10th, 2011 at 8:43 PM ^
that play, it was tough, but it has to be made.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:45 PM ^
Grand slam ends it.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:46 PM ^
Fuck that shit. Nelson Cruz was the only player in this entire game that could swing a fucking bat.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:46 PM ^
new Tiger killer. Damn, don't want to say this series is over, but it's a big uphill battle now.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:46 PM ^
Damned disappointing, that. Got to hold serve now..
October 10th, 2011 at 8:47 PM ^
Rangers are up 2-0 but haven't played in Comerica yet
Let's see how Tigers respond in friendly confines
October 10th, 2011 at 8:47 PM ^
We have fister who is capable of going deep and it is not uncommon for the 2 - 3 - 2 to go to the home teams.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:48 PM ^
Tigers hitters need to show up at home.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:49 PM ^
seven game series. we're still alive. I like our chances at Comerica and game seven is a coin flip.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:49 PM ^
Fister is going to have to come out and pitch well right from the start. The Tigers, more importantly, need to find a way to get the base runners around to score.
October 10th, 2011 at 8:50 PM ^
Cant have 14 Lob's and expect to win
October 10th, 2011 at 8:51 PM ^

resume drinkng and go lions
October 10th, 2011 at 8:59 PM ^
The funny thing is that Detroit's utility players have actually been the most consistent hitters on our team. The pitching has been generally decent including the bullpen. Our big hitters: Cabrera, Martinez, Avila, Peralta really need to step up.
October 10th, 2011 at 9:01 PM ^
I personally don't find this funny at all.
October 10th, 2011 at 9:01 PM ^
fister will do well in his next game but I was encouraged by porcello and how sharp he was in the bullpen yesterday. Tigers need to jump on the starter so we don't have to suffer the rangers bullpen.

Turn Maggs, Penny, Betimet, and a little more into Jose Reyes, Mr. Illitch. Go get your baseball Shanahan.
