Some terrible football being played in Santa Clara. Good thing SF has that shiny new stadium.

I'm in total boycott mode of NFL games which, apparently, is becoming a thing now based on tanking rankings.

I don't wanna get off topic but I think our flag is meaningful to most people and they are exercising their right to not watch what they view as offensive.

as sitting for our anthem. while both are free speech issues, one of those methods of communicating is much more insulting to those that fought and died so we could live in the greatest country in the history of mankind.

The greatest country in the history of mankind always makes me kind of chucke. And a little sick.

but who/which is your pick if not the US?
October 6th, 2016 at 11:18 PM ^
America has its flaws, no doubt, but there is no place like USA to live and raise a family.

Life is 0.1% about money and 99.9% about living life. Can't take $$$ with you when you die, but you sure as hell can leave a legacy with kids, grand kids, great grand kids etc.
I feel bad for you if money is your deciding factor on what constitutes a good place to raise a family.

and be debt free by retirement. Also, save for retirement. After the Baby Boomers and Generation X, there probably will not be much SS left.

have you ever been to New Zealand? New Zealand is pretty nice. Except they have a lot of regulations on fishing, which bums me out because I love to fish. And their food sucks. And it's like impossible to get WiFi.
My point is that nothing is good enough for me and I'm a stupid spoiled 20-something brat. And the best part is there doesn't even need to be a /s after that :D

20 yrs ago. it is alaska without predators. loved the people, beautiful place, but don't be so naive to think it's better than the US.

has my number, because I don't really know. I just think the bravado of "we are the greatest there ever was and ever will be on the planet !!" is just kind of silly. Only in America is our flag all over the place and we proclaim how awesome we are 24/7.
I had a friend from Spain visit once and he was like Hey is there a reason the American flag is on like every block? Just seems weird that we're obsessed with and love a symbol, yet get so bent out of shape when people utilize the freedoms etc. that our flag represents.
I mean I really love the USA. I can't really imagine being anywhere else other than here. But the constant drumbeat of WE'RE NUMBER ONE seems childish or something to me. Especially because in so many areas we are veeeeery not number one.
Anyway. Go USA, live ya life, do you, don't hurt others, be kind, and always Go Blue.

I believe I saw an article today saying something like 33% of people say they're less likely to watch the NFL because of the protesting. People may legitimately be exercising their right to protest the players protests
October 6th, 2016 at 9:55 PM ^
I believe it...I know alot of guys completely lost interest in the NFL when they decided to tolerate it.

NFL season doesn't really start until Tom Brady is playing!
It would be so nice if Detroit had a professional football team.

after his first decade as Michigan's head coach. 4 national championship rings!

Yeah, kind of a bad night when the "marquee" game is Memphis versus Temple. At least WKU/LT will be high-scoring.
October 6th, 2016 at 8:57 PM ^
They would crush Rutgers. (deja vu)

Glad to be back home and able to watch football on TV! I'll take a boring CFB over no CFB anyday! And I don't think this game is that bad.

Clemson vs Boston College should be interesting only from the aspect of how BC's defense will fair against Clemson. Sort of a mini preview of what we could expect if we face those guys. I don't think BC changed up their schemes too much since Brown's departure?
October 6th, 2016 at 11:21 PM ^
If BC wins, you're welcome. Can't wait to get home to the greatest place on the planet Earth, the great state of Michigan.

Anyone else streaming the Pistons preseason game? No? Just me, figured lol.
October 6th, 2016 at 9:04 PM ^
Naw...used to be a huge Pistons fan but after that last strike and seeing some of the bs by many players I sort of lost my enthusiasm for the game.
95% of my sports enthusiasm is, literally, college football.
October 6th, 2016 at 9:12 PM ^
I've always been overly loyal to the Pistons, at least they're finally on the rise. Suffered through the bad times long enough.

There's the Rick Porcello we remembered in Detroit. A bomb served up to the #9 hitter in Cleveland's lineup.

Speaking of the Blue Jays (by the way) I was in Toronto today you would not believe how bad the traffic is in that town. I don't know how anyone can live there it is a nightmare getting around.
