eeeehhhhhh, that was not a fair catch. I think the returner initially wanted to do one, but pulled back. TCU got robbed there.

Disagree, The rule is pretty clear if you raise your hand above the shoulder it is a fair catch. It looked like one of the Texas Tech players peeled off the pursuit once he saw the fair catch.

I don't disagree with you. I also thought it was an invalid fair catch and thought it should be a penalty. I was just making a point that he clearly made a motion with his arm to make the cover team think he was taking a fair catch.

Just a dumb play. I have seen players drop the ball at the one so many times i have lost count. If that was me, I would be holding on to that ball for dear life.
Also agree with Pollack for once, that rule should be changed to make it a touchback.

Yea I thought I remember it being called a touchback in a previous game.
September 12th, 2013 at 10:42 PM ^
First the fair catch fiasco for TCU and now an early drop and an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty puts Texas Tech at the 15 1/2...then the holding call negates the gain of 6 and puts it just behind the 20 yard line, and THEN....the touchdown. Arguably, this was the most bizarre drive of the game. Arguably.

They ran a play before the review. This review should be invalid. Holy crap these refs are having a night.

Meanwhile, the back judge has flagged Trevone Boykin for a balk and TCU will be awarded possession of the puck at the 35 yard line.
...and that's game, oh effed up game. TCU outgained Texas Tech by a margin of 62 yards (401 to 339). There were 205 yards of penalty yards in this game too.

These refs were so bad, they could probably start at quarterback for Michigan State.

Oh boy Troy, woof. Guy pulls a Gardner but unfortunately doesn't have the athleticism to get away (or maybe it's fortunately he gets sacked before he can toss it to the other team).
