Threadjack thread

Submitted by tasnyder01 on May 10th, 2019 at 10:37 AM

Its come to my attention that some users cannot post new threads until they receive the right to gain points on 5/25*. So, I'll throw this thread up: if you don't have the ability to gain points, but want to start a thread -- feel free to thread-jack below.

Hey CMHCFB,

seems like it might be prudent to offer you a way to post comments in the future. I have no idea how to DM, but if you'd like to email me, its [myhandle but without the 01] at live dot com. You can prob shoot me an email if you want me to post a thread for you to hijack.

Thanks tasnyder01, but you’ve already fixed the problem for me.  When I logged in last night the board looked completely different.  There were thumbs up and thumbs down graphics on every comment, I could finally upvote.  I clicked on my icon and points were showing as well as two new options, create a diary or post to McGo Board!  In short, my account is fixed, point are accumulating and I can post.   I assume that your post caught the eye of one of the mods and they found a way to fix my account.  I really appreciate you going out of your way to create the threadjack post, thank you!

AJ Henning, a top receiver recruit with blazing fast speed (4.46) is visiting UM this weekend and he will be joined by J.J. McCarthy who is on commitment watch.  If McCarthy commits it will generate momentum and I’d expect him to be a leader in trying to recruit others for the class (2021)

Would be good to nab Henning and McCarthy and fire up Illinois recruiting a bit. We got Keegan last cycle but Chicago/Illinois seems to produce a lot less than it should for us. Harbaugh said on one of the AED podcasts a while back that they more or less think there should be 15 or 16 D-1 caliber football players per million people in a metro area. By that logic there should be well over 100 D-1 caliber guys in Metro Chicago. We've pulled 15 recruits in the last 19 years out of Illinois. Notre Dame and Wisconsin seem to pull more there, and the 2020 and 2021 classes seem to have more high end talent than in years past for the state. I think we lead for a 4 Star DT in the 2021 class in IL as well.

Thanks for the stats, I didn’t realize there had only been 15 recruits in the last 19 years from IL.   Keegan was a huge get, any time you pull the top player out of a state you’re doing something right.  I think Denver Warren is the 4* 2020 DT leaning towards UM.  It feels like there is momentum coming from IL.

Probably not post worthy, but the recruiting saga of Justin Rogers takes another turn.  After a conversation with Nick Saban, his top 5 became a top 6.  (Insert rolling eye emoji here)

After naming Michigan in his top five list two days ago, 4-star Oak Park offensive lineman Justin Rogers had “an amazing conversation” with Nick Saban from Alabama and put them in his brand new top six.

Thanks for the link, I couldn’t figure out how to post it.   It’s really tough to pick a winner from those comments but the “we saw him first” might be the best of all.

I hate to be that guy but Kentucky offered him first and saw him when nobody else did. If he does that Kentucky you can count me out as a fan. Not my team but your word is your bond.

We called them…

Long time lurker, very occasional responder here... this post just reminded me to log in and see how many points I have.  I can finally post (happy face).  I got nothing worth posting about (sad face)

OP, can you elaborate on this part of your post?

...some users cannot post new threads until they receive the right to gain points on 5/25.*

I'm in this thread to let it be known I don't really care about starting threads. lol.

For the record, Elno Lewis was the original "handle jacker" from the Halo Scan days. His frequent handlejackings lead to the termination of Halo Scan and its replacement with all stupid points-based systems that followed. Good commentary has deteriorated significantly every year since.
