It's a college football tradition. A small reward system for those that don't get paid to play the game. If it gives the kids even a 0.1% more motivation to perform you do it. Leave no stone unturned to be the best.

I agree the clean helmet looks better over all. After the last 7 years I say let Jimmy do what ever Jim feels he needs to do to get wins.

It's not a college football tradition; it's a tradition on a per football program basis. To me, it's about the team, not individual accomplishments. That isn't the main issue for me, though. As you mentioned, the clean look (especially on the prettiest helmet in sports) is far superior. All that said, I just care about winning and we finally have a superior to most coach.

They're awful. They're too big, they clutter the best helmet in football, and the actual sticker itself isn't anything special. The dog bones, tomahawks, even the buckeyes are unqiue and relate to the school. These are yellow ovals with a "live"/"real" wolverine on them that no one even knows what it is because we never use that image anywhere else throughout our entire program.

So not only do they not look good, they don't really make sense either.

This is a picture that Harbaugh personally loves.  He has it hanging in his coaches office.  Bo's not yelling at him, he's calling a play with his usual Bo passion.

Just wait . . . sometime during the season, there will be a picture or video clip of Harbaugh in the exact same pose, this time on the other side, now as the coach channeling his inner Bo.  The student becomes the teacher.

Watch for it and post it here when it happens.

I was a freshman living in south quad for the catch in that first picture. A guy down the halll from me who was 6'7" jumped up and threw his fists in the air in celebration and punched through the light and into the ceiling. It was pretty comical.
