TCU Content: Purple Theory Podcast
I'm eager for any Michigan-TCU I can get and found this podcast that is actually quite analytical (similar vibe to Mgoblog podcast in many ways) and even handed. The most recent episode is a recap of their TCU--KSU game, but I'm sure they will have preview content soon.

One of the hosts is pretty popular on CFB twitter https://twitter.com/statsowar. I found it to be worth a listen, cheers!

I listen to podcasts a lot so I will definitely give this a try. Thanks for posting!

Just spoke to EA coach from Ohio that him, CK, JV and others used during covid.
Sounds like EA struggles with maturity, and that his father whom was compared to AB when being described to me is also very much unhinged. Multiple friends of his that are on the team have been trying to reach EA with texts and calls for the past few days and he's unresponsive. The players tried to stop him, also pleading with him to be more quiet about it or to consider timing - in hopes of not taking away from what the team has accomplished. Lastly, it sounds like EA injury is something that can cost a player his career, and if nothing else is a red flag for NFL. His true friends are begging him to not burn the U of M bridge, and to reconsider his decision.
JayBaugh to Kzoo is a Hollywood script, and the truth is we probably need him to leave the nest if he has any shot at replacing his father.
Hoping that GR prefers MD and smiley face over Palo Alto, however it sounds like if he goes West the logical replacement would be boy genius MW.
Portal is top priority for coaches and staff right now.

Must be a lot of newbz here as this is what GoJ does and we, his groveling minions, must decipher the code so we can get the jade monkey. Something tells me he has clearance to give out info but has some agreement to actually not use names. Strange but fun times.
*Additionally I like how this is buried in a board post about TCU podcasts. Well played GoJ!
December 6th, 2022 at 9:57 AM ^
Yeah. I know it puts some off but I like the initials. Keeps my guessing. LOL. And I enjoy all the guesses people make.
December 6th, 2022 at 10:21 AM ^
To be fair, not being a newb myself it still took me a minute to figure out what the heck he was talking about with “All” the abbreviations.
December 6th, 2022 at 10:26 AM ^
Perfect timing and season for this. Well done. I am stoked for A Christmas Story already!
December 6th, 2022 at 11:23 AM ^
absolute best Christmas movie ever..... kinda cool that the adult Ralphie has a new movie coming out this year too. it won't hold water to the original, but we'll be watching none the less.
December 6th, 2022 at 10:27 AM ^
Thank you. I was having trouble figuring that out, but now I know it means be sure to drink your ovaltine.
December 6th, 2022 at 11:24 AM ^
You of all people should have no problem deciphering the code. Username does NOT check out.
December 6th, 2022 at 8:54 AM ^
I guess you're crunched for time, but maybe consider easing up on the abbreviations.
December 6th, 2022 at 8:58 AM ^
first, thanks ghost.
second, guessing a couple of easy ones in there: EA = erick all. AB = antonio brown who lost his crud on the way out of tampa bay. MW = matt weiss
December 6th, 2022 at 9:14 AM ^
There is a long history of this sort of thing back to the 19th century, in so-called "roman a clef" - french for novels with a key - stories based on true life events. The text would be like In the town of P______, we saw the Count of M_____. Not quite blind items like are seen in the old gossip columns, but along the same lines.
December 6th, 2022 at 9:19 AM ^
This would make GR = Greg Roman, and MD=Maryland. Meaning... We hope Roman doesn't take the coaching job in Stanford. If he does, off goes Weiss to Baltimore.
December 6th, 2022 at 9:33 AM ^
If so, I really would love DG to replace MW.
December 6th, 2022 at 9:59 AM ^
I know DG coaches kids. Is he even interested in college coaching? If so, he really should become an analyst for UM. That man knows his stuff.
December 6th, 2022 at 10:26 AM ^
Why not QB Coach? He already coaches technique, clearly understands X's and O's, and I have 0% doubt that he will recruit well.
December 6th, 2022 at 9:52 AM ^
Stanford has money to throw out but Roman is an odd choice given that he is a NFL lifer without the two years under Harbaugh at Stanford. Paul Chryst might be a good fit there.
December 6th, 2022 at 9:23 AM ^
IDK, me thinks AB still has all his crud
December 6th, 2022 at 9:09 AM ^
But then he would lose his whole schtick.
December 6th, 2022 at 8:56 AM ^
This seems like strange revisionist history. I remember harbaugh praising All last year as a kid of high character and a Michigan man. The "maturity" complaint by those connected could just be program-speak for not acting like we want.
Also don't know what to make of the AB comparison, that man is a 1 of 1 nutso.
December 6th, 2022 at 9:01 AM ^
I mean what is Harbaugh supposed to say about a player publicly? I’m sure he is going to praise all of his players. Even if All did have some maturity issues, I’m sure last year the program thought he might grow out of it.
December 6th, 2022 at 10:23 AM ^
I started my current job a year and a half ago. The former owner/current President who I reported to completely screwed me over after about six months. I confronted him on it and despite my better judgement bitched to several people about it. He didn't care for that. I can potentially recover, but I pretty much don't have a future at my current company. I'm old enough to know better. To all you kids out there keep your damn mouths shut. No one cares and it makes you look bad.
Everyone had the utmost respect for EA and would have been bummed to see him transfer. Two sentences and he's a bum and won't get any speaking engagements from Michigan in the future. I'm pretty sure these kids get media training. I feel bad for EA.
FWIW--this is why whistle blowers almost always pay more than the people they blow the whistle on.
December 6th, 2022 at 10:53 AM ^
been there blew that whistle, been retaliated on. Honestly, it wasn't worth it. I felt like I was doing the right thing and then just got shoved into the trash bin.
December 6th, 2022 at 11:56 AM ^
I was a whistle blower once in my younger days. Was let go of my job with 2 months of the event. Worked out ok for me as I got back on my feet and moved forward with my career.
So in retrospect, it was a good thing that I kept my morals. Cost me in the very short term, but over the past 15 years allowed me to continue my successful career with my integrity intact.
December 6th, 2022 at 12:36 PM ^
WestQuad, you are to be commended for speaking up.
Despite any repurcussions, I don't think anyone can ever go wrong by doing the right thing.
Up until starting my own marketing agency about 6.5 years ago, I worked in corporate media.
I saw rampant favoritism, questionable decisions, lack of morals, etc. Everyone was spending a lot of time managing up. Nothing illegal, but toxic behavior and a somewhat negative culture.
My last position in the corporate world was in management.
I was asked to do things I didn't feel were right/fair (take accounts away from salespeople, play bullshit games with pricing, etc.), so I didn't do them.
I was called in to a meeting with upper management to discuss my failure to act. They indicated they were going to write me up. My response (not making this up): "Don't bother, because I'm quitting."
It's too bad I don't have a photo of the upper managers' faces. They didn't like me because I wasn't part of their "squad" and wasn't interested in "managing up," but they knew I was the manager (there were two of us in our unit) who was getting everything done and ensuring the sales team was exceeding their goals.
December 6th, 2022 at 9:42 AM ^
Maybe he's just like damn near every other person in his age group and has some maturing to do. And, maturity doesn't nec apply across the board and in all situations. Its all speculation, but a young man in his early 20's lacking maturity isn't exactly news.
December 6th, 2022 at 10:20 AM ^
I'm 63 years old now, and when I look back in hindsight at my 20-something self, I'm embarrassed by how naive and immature I was.
December 6th, 2022 at 11:57 AM ^
Ha! I resemble that remark.
I hope EA makes the right choice for himself. I also hope JH shows him more grace should his decision change. The kid had surgery for something that might take away the one thing in the world that he is best at. He's rehabbing away from the team and just lost his roommate. That is a lot to process for anyone.
December 6th, 2022 at 11:02 AM ^
This about sums it up:
December 6th, 2022 at 10:24 AM ^
I think GoJ was talking about EA's father... not EA. Judging by the Twitters, I'd say that matches more closely.
December 6th, 2022 at 10:49 AM ^
From interactions on the sideline with coaches, and no other information it appeared to me All was somewhat high maintenance and mercurial. Those can be good or bad traits depending on how they are channeled.
Shame. He was the whole package on the field and I was looking forward to a full year of him.

EA = Erick All
CK = Caden Kolesar?
JV = Joey Velazquez?
AB = Antonio Brown, troubled NFL wide receiver
JayBaugh = Jay Harbaugh
Kazoo = Western Michigan head coaching vacancy
GR = Greg Roman the Ravens offensive coordinator
MD = Maryland as in the Baltimore Ravens
Palo Alto = Stanford head coaching vacancy
MW = Matt Weiss
JD = Jadyn Davis
1102 = It's been 1,102 days since Ohio St. beat Michigan in Football as Michigan has won the last two matchups 42-27 and 45-23.
December 6th, 2022 at 9:05 AM ^
I was wondering why it was board worthy, whether Garrett Rivas preferred MD to Palo Alto.....
December 6th, 2022 at 9:06 AM ^
I assume CK was "Cornelius KJohnson" with the K being silent and none of us noticing.
December 6th, 2022 at 9:14 AM ^
Wonder what Jadyn Davis's hold-up is at this point. Thought I heard he was waiting until after his season was done to commit, which I assume is over...
Confirming we don't sign Dante Moore at the last second on early signing day?
December 6th, 2022 at 9:56 AM ^
Maybe they want him to wait till after Dec 21. Get this class out of the way and then get some momentum for 24. Just a hunch

thanks Jmer, far better than i did.
people around here get in a hissy-fit if the thoughtful, insightful, insider information isn't served on the exact platter, at the exact temperature, cooked to their liking, oh, and with spices just so.
