Tats as a recruiting tool?
Were free tats used as a recruiting tool? I know it wouldnt be a huge deal for myself to get free tats but there are tons of kids that have a good deal of ink. Had host players said things like "when you play here you can get free tats for autographs". If so how many players did we lose out on?
That would only prove that there are some kids that we really want to lose out on.
I thought this said tate as a recruiting tool. I was looking forward to that topic
I can see the connection, though.
If there are tats, you'll want to transfer.
If you are Tate, you'll want to transfer.
Thought that too at first and was like this I have to see
from the SI article that the tattoos had much influence in recruiting. It's might be possible— from reading Michigan recruiting interviews, it is clear that recruits spend time with players, and if the tattoo parlor was a major hangout for players, then the recruits could have visited the tattoo parlor—but I don't really think it's likely. I think the car benefits would be a lot bigger of a factor—like how Pryor 'borrowed' a corvette from a Ohio State booster living his home town. Also, in the SI article they mentioned the rigged raffles at Ohio State summer camps, which could've influenced the recruits more.
Tl;dnr Probably not, but theres a lot of other illegal things that could have influenced recruits.
It does seem like recruits would've ended up in that place if players hung out there, but it's probably just wishful thinking on our part as we imagine how big the hammer could be...
That was just the only way I could see the whole tattoo thing actually influencing recruits.
Tressel likes tattoos too.
i had at leest 2 guaranteed in my contract w/OSU
Don't get your knickers in a knot. High schoolers can be stupid, but the likelihood of them choosing one school over another simply because of a couple of free tats they could get down the road is minimal.
If one place seemed cool and living the high life as seen in videos, and the other was trying to sell you on the academic center.....
I think it is free tats for recruiting tools...and tools they got...thank you TP
