that's great, but who are the Chefs?
November 5th, 2017 at 7:24 PM ^
In my kitchen now. Scary good clam chowder, mixed cabbage asian salad with sesame lemon dressing, and slow-roasted chicken. Go chefs.
Unfort, then I have real work to do. Plus nursing my sweetie of 20 years after she finished the NYC Marathon yet again. I have a few of those medals too but running disgusts me despite formerly serving as hs track captain.
I'll take the home made chickens :)

Chicken has that way about it. Sometimes it's tough. Just not today.

To bring this back full circle: Does your sweetie eat tacos?

Jehu Chesson picking up some garbage-time yardage, too.
November 5th, 2017 at 11:26 PM ^
He was perfectly placed and trying to swat a kickoff or punt down at something like the 3-inch line, but a teammate seemed to run into him with a swat attempt of his own, sending the ball back into the end zone. Did anyone else see that play and understand what happened? It was Chesson's name that was called, but I hope they weren't blaming him...
November 6th, 2017 at 9:37 AM ^
They just ran into each other trying to make the play. It was that simple.
I also think the Chesson catch in the 4th quarter was his first NFL catch as well.

Not paying close attention to the game, but was relieved to see him put in as a receiver later, confirming he wasn't in the dog house. (The maternal in me, worrying about my boys.)

He made tacos for his defensive teammates after the sack.

You, I, and the entire world know that if you inserted the Lions for the Seahawks at the end of that game that there would have been a 10 second runoff and the last play wouldn't have been allowed to have happened. Stupid league with stupid mystery rules.

Maybe his nickname will be Taco Truck some day running down qbs from behind.
This link might work to see his sack, also at 24/7 sports. Sorry I'm not the techmaster.

When your first career NFL sack comes on 3rd down AND in the 4th Quarter, it makes up for the previous games, @TheSupremeTaco pic.twitter.com/tNLfN5va71

That's kind of a shitty tweet. Why even suggest that he has to "make up" for previous games? Just congratulate him.

Nah, the Cowboys wouldn't lose by 31 to Iowa.
November 6th, 2017 at 12:41 AM ^
I mean obviously the classy thing to do is to just congratulate him.
However, if the Lions used a 1st round draft pick on a DE, I would definitely be a little disappointed if that draft pick has only had 4 total tackles and a sack after 8 games.
Hopefully, this is the first of many sacks for Taco though.

Besides the game situation, Taco's sack meant a lot because his pick at #28 in the first round has been getting a LOT of second-guessing from armchair GMs in the Cowboy fan base (which I know well, since I'm a Dallas fan). Lots of hand-wringing over passing up T.J. Watt to take Taco, rumors that Jason Garrett overrode the team's scouting department to make the pick, etc. (And seeing Watt rack up sacks while Taco rode the pine for much of the season so far didn't help.)
So with luck, this will be the start of good things for Taco in the NFL. He needs an offseason to get stronger and refine his pass-rush technique before he'll really take off, but this was a good sign that his work so far is paying dividends.
Meanwhile, the other Wolverine rookie on the Dallas D, Jourdan Lewis, has been spectacular -- certainly the team's best cornerback since he finally got over his hammy issue. And by the way, the DT on that play whose pressure up the middle forced Alex Smith toward Taco for the sack? That's Richard Ash, one of the Pahokee guys who played for Michigan and transferred to play his fifth year at WMU.

But that's because I didn't pay any attention to the NFL before I got to NYC, and the Giants always seemed to have at least one M player on the roster. Amani Toomer was there then, so I had valid rooting interests. None on the roster now, which I guess is good timing for me beause so many other teams have M players to pay attention to.
However rooting for the Cowboys is still abhorrent. Was so troubled when they drafted some of my favorite players, because I still have to root for my guys. Fortunately Chesson was playing for the Chiefs, so rooting for him seemed to balance things.
