Super Tuesday Bowl Game Thread: 5 Bowl Games in One Day!

Submitted by crg on December 28th, 2021 at 10:52 AM

5 Bowl Games.  12+ hours.  All back to back to back to back to back on the same network on the SAME DARN DAY... with ZERO covid cancelations announced by the deadline!  ... On a Tuesday!  And they *should* be competitive and/or interesting (e.g. the Mike Leach Bowl of Miss State vs Texas Tech... complete with threats of lawsuits on missed backpay and CJK5H!)

God Bless bowl season.

Enjoy!

I'll be at the West Virginia - Minnesota game this evening in Phoenix.  It's called the "Guaranteed Rate Bowl," but in past years it was the "Copper Bowl," and the "Cactus Bowl."  My wife hails from West Virginia, which is the reason we're going.

We went the last time WVU came to town for the bowl, but that was against Arizona State, so it was essentially a home game for ASU.  It'll be interesting to see how many people show up for WVU vs. Minnesota way out in Phoenix.

After today, hope the SEC is 0-4, Minny wins, Air Force, and UCLA (with good action by Charbonnet).

As much as I would love to beat Alabama for the National Championship, I’d rather the SEC be completely swept out of the playoff/bowl season and Michigan beat that Fickle (pun intended) team Cincinnati.

Obviously, I only TRULY care that Michigan wins. Go Blue!

This kind of made my day actually, thanks for posting crg. I'm actually stuck in a house where everyone is sick - not c-19, thank god- but it still stinks. But this is something nice to look forward to. Plus there are some premier league games on today as well.

Targeting is obvious to me. Defenseless player was an easy target for a wrap up tackle which would be equally explosive without risking the health of the offensive player. Yet, SEC gets an incidental contact…WTF

10-3 Houston at the Half.

Interview from Stetson during the Halftime show, addressing the haters:

"It doesn't bother me. It's frustrating sometimes."

The obvious question would be, 'which one is it (lmao)?'. Ultimately, it's his demeanor that I recognized moreso than anything. Whatever is happening behind the scenes at Georgia...it's definitely a different look and approach from what our coaches and players are taking. He looked tight in that segment (though, it may be due to knowing something that he can't share with the media). When Michigan wins, it'll be interesting to hear what was going on in the background at Georgia post-Alabama.

So, Auburn's Monday got away with Targeting (reversed) in the first, but call stands on the 2nd Targeting call. Commentators are against the call, but Monday is clearly trying to hurt someone IMO. Damn, I hope this costs Auburn. I hate bushleague play.

Texas Tech is taking it to Mississippi State. 27-7 at the end of the third.

SEC is on its way to 0-4.

My good buddy is an LSU fan and does not get the SEC intaconference fanjobing. He is loving this as much as I am.

That's a bad loss, too. State was the seventh biggest favorite of the bowl season. FEI had it that way too. SP+ and Massey only had them by 5-6 but still...
