Sponsor Note: Wisconsin Watch Party at the Circ Bar
The deck outside is key for when you need to step out and go "auuuuugh" over some train tracks.
Where're you watching the game this weekend?
The Circ Bar was recently updated and hosted us for Football Eve a few weeks back. At the time their food menu wasn't yet ready but they really liked our crowd (apparently you buy drinks AND don't throw them on each other).
Now that the kitchen works, they would like to invite MGoBlog readers to try the new Circ Bar to watch the Wisconsin game this Saturday (at noon). Your families probably don't want you in the house for this one anyway, but you can convince them it's charitable: The Circ will put $1 from every Blue Moon purchased to the Chad Tough Foundation.
Also their new Gameday Food Menu will be available. A Tito's Promo Team will be there as well.
Take pictures. Let me know how it goes!

Sorry XM! It's so rare that someone doesn't have it (which is a smart move).

Good call I added it

"Circ" is not the name I would choose for a bar.

September 19th, 2019 at 8:56 AM ^
It's Circus reincarnated, so it works.
September 19th, 2019 at 1:20 PM ^
Just because it is formerly Circus doesn't stop me from thinking of schlongs when hearing "The Circ."
September 19th, 2019 at 9:03 PM ^
Circus as in the place with free pop corn and 25 cent PBR draft, compete with pool tables?
September 20th, 2019 at 2:20 AM ^
WTF are you actually implying?
September 19th, 2019 at 9:02 AM ^
I haven't been to Circ in about 9 months or so, but wow if that's what it looks like now, they really did some renovations. Looks good!
September 19th, 2019 at 9:36 AM ^
Except being a dive was a large part of its charm. It's a new day, I guess.
September 20th, 2019 at 2:22 AM ^
Hipsters and millennials don’t like dives. And it’s only acceptable to buy pbr in an uptown bar
September 19th, 2019 at 9:35 AM ^
NTTAWWT, I suppose...

Brandon Minor in the back right!
September 19th, 2019 at 10:20 AM ^
don't let the overly HDR'd photo fool you- "circ" is just a vestigial shell of the bar that it once was- Circus. No more 75c PBR night, no more karaoke. No more character.
Edit: Also, there used to be like 5 pool tables. Now there's the sole, lonely survivor.
September 19th, 2019 at 10:22 AM ^
Oh -- I agree. Circus was probably my favorite bar for actual going out.
September 19th, 2019 at 10:53 AM ^
I don't know what it used to look like, but from the recent pictures... In a college town, it's the place where uppity, rich frat boys named Winston take their uppity, rich sorority girlfriends they nicknamed Muffy...

1980 called and asked for you to return its "Preppy Handbook" stereotypes.
I kid ... partly. I get your general idea and agree with it.
September 19th, 2019 at 11:10 AM ^
They can take my handbook when they pry it from my cold, dead, hands. I'm almost old, it stays with me!
September 19th, 2019 at 12:22 PM ^
I think the point of advertising with us guys is they're trying to establish a different clientele.
September 19th, 2019 at 1:29 PM ^
Wouldn't want to damage a revenue source for the site, but aren't we the last people they want going to their bar?
September 19th, 2019 at 7:03 PM ^
You mean people who pay their tabs?
September 19th, 2019 at 8:09 PM ^
I was thinking more along the lines of personalities, but yes, I would hope all of us here would pay their tabs.
September 19th, 2019 at 11:05 AM ^
Welllll it used to be a big circus tent over the bar with a stuffed lion jumping through a neon ring of fire --- so pretty much the exact opposite lol.

I grew up in Grosse Pointe, and one of my classmates was actually a Muffy who sailed and wore Sperry Topsiders.

Welcome to the "new Ann Arbor ".
It ain't what it used to be.?

Overpriced everything and unaffordable housing unless your East coast parents pay the bills.
September 20th, 2019 at 2:25 AM ^
Hipster bullshit with millennial privilege added and no uniqueness?
September 19th, 2019 at 5:08 PM ^
Animal House flashback with kitchen glove hand jobs all around...lol

No thanks. Headed to Mars to watch with this guy.
September 19th, 2019 at 10:53 AM ^
I do not see many big screen TV's there. How in the hell am i going to watch our new French RB carry it 30 times without a TV there?
September 19th, 2019 at 12:20 PM ^
I think they've added TVs.
September 19th, 2019 at 11:19 AM ^
I will be watching in Camp Randall but this looks like it could be fun.
September 19th, 2019 at 12:21 PM ^
me too
September 19th, 2019 at 12:06 PM ^
Wow. That is a beautiful bar, at least from that angle.
September 19th, 2019 at 5:26 PM ^
Why is this post sticky when it’s not labeled as such
September 19th, 2019 at 7:04 PM ^
Note the post date. When we get a sponsored post I put it 24 hours in the future so it stays up. Then it drifts off a day later naturally.
September 19th, 2019 at 5:26 PM ^
Nice lookin' place!
September 19th, 2019 at 6:28 PM ^
Looks really nice. Wish I can go

September 20th, 2019 at 7:30 AM ^
You lie. Go away.

We went there once. It was like 5 pm-and the music was so loud I’m sure they could hear it in Columbus. And only a couple people in there. We turned around and walked back out—didn’t think they were looking for our demographic (50s, sports, beer/cocktails, food, don’t want a pounding night club). I was shocked and laughed once when I saw them say they were disappointed that the deck wasn’t more popular and that the Grotto was always full. Was no shock to me. I’m at the Grotto all the time.
If it has changed, I’ll try it again. Would definitely need more TVs, and no music during the game. Has anyone been during a game to know?
