We are in "DEEP" trouble of this happens. I can't even fathom a secondary of Floyd, Turner (might be good but has no experience), Kovacs, and Williams/Vlad. We'll need Rich Rod's offense to be scoring 40 points a game.

I agree. It is a hard decision to make, but if a team has more invested in you then you tend to be given more of an opportunity to develop. Also, the average NFL career is pretty short, so difference between a first/second contract and a fifth/sixth round contract could be huge as far as career earnings. But, in the end it is DW's choice, so I say good luck kid.

He can say anything now but when he is gets his NFL evaluation that probably will change his tune....unless you a higher draft pick (Top 3 Rounds), you don't get a high salary bonus which is the only guarantee money in the NFL....so unless he gets a high evaluation, I don't expect him to come out....

Great, looks like Lloyd is secretly undermining us for next year as well. I am also sure some of the more optimistic of us will explain why this is actually a positive development.

It will hurt losing a veteran like him. He is a good corner but I don't think he is ready and it would serve him well to stay another year. There were a few games this year that he was taken to task. I personally don't think he is physical enough at the line. It would be nice to see him come back next year and really improve that piece of his game. I wish him all the luck if he does go, he has been fun to watch.

There's someone named Trent, Morgan who is a rookie in the NFL. Warren has about the same stats with a year left. Interceptions: Warren 6 -- Trent 7 PBU: Warren 16 -- Trent 16

True, but Morgan was a 6 round draft pick and signed on June 16, 2009 a four-year, $1.862 million contract. The deal included a $112,000 signing bonus. 2009: $310,000, 2010: $395,000, 2011: $480,000, 2012: $565,000, 2013: Free Agent I am just saying that, unless you are a 1st or 2nd round draft pick, he is better off coming back for another year and improve his draft position.

Don't forget that the way that teams sign rookies out of the draft will probably be reworked after this draft class. Or at least that's been the rumor for some time. So I suspect we will see a lot of underclassmen enter the draft - in some cases before they probably should - to try and cash in. It might be like the year before the NBA instituted the rule that players have to have had a year after high school to be eligible. I am not saying Warren should or shouldn't go pro based on ability. If I had to guess, based on recent UofM draftees going much lower than expected - Woodley, Alan Branch, Gabe Watson, etc - he is a third rounder. Pure speculation. But a 3rd rounder in the 2010 draft might make more than a second rounder in 2011. Good luck to him whatever he decides. We'll be OK. Also, I think the change in rookie contract rules means Jimmah goes pro for sure. That and the whole "got punched in the face by a fan and his coach was fired" thing.

...but if NASA wants to pay me millions, I'm there in a heart beat. This could be the kid's best chance to take care of his family and be financially secure for life. If he's watching teammates dropping like flies around him with injuries, who can blame him? I hope Rich and his staff are working on securing the $2.9 mil. insurance policy from the NCAA for Donovan.

his talents were completely wasted and I would get the fuck out as well if I was told to give 8 yard buffers on 2nd and 6. Honestly not a big loss as we have plenty of guys that can let a WR catch the ball 4 yards down field before tackling them for an 8 yard gain.

Didn't he just say he was coming back two weeks ago? Hopefully he gets the best advice possible and makes the best decision for him and his family, whatever that may be. Unless he was just blowing smoke up our ass and never intended to come back no matter what, I don't see why he wouldn't wait for his evaluation. I'll wait until he makes an official announcement before I officially freak out.
