Anything we get from Wagner at the plate is a bonus.

That said, she hit hugely important homers vs Minny and Georgia. It's either home run or out with her.

Curious how many follow softball throughout the year and how many just get pulled in for the WCWS. I have great memories of my Dad and I suddenly becoming huge softball fans back in 2005 during M's run. We were glued to every game M played.

I've been here every game this season. Get tweets sent to my phone and downloaded desktop tweetdeck to follow along with games that aren't on TV or a stream. These WCWS are extra sweet for those there with the team all year long

for many years.  Played baseball, slow-pitch and a bit of modified fast-pitch in my own playing career, and also coached a couple women's slow-pitch team years ago.  So i've always had some interest.

But I really got into being a fan of women's fast-pitch softball a couple decades ago when my niece/goddaughter and her younger sister both played high school ball at Caledonia at the varsity level for a really good program, the older of the two was an all-conference pitcher there.  Not to mention that their dad (my brother-in-law) coached pitchers at Caledonia for years and years.  In fact, he coached one of the current Michigan players, walk-on bullpen catcher Morgan Swift, for many years throughout her pitching career at Caledonia.

My own daughter also played during her school career so obviously I'm hooked.  Being a Michigan Softball fan, then, became an outgrowth of that when I'm already a huge Michigan Sports fan and then got a taste of our Softball Team's success under Hutch for so very long.

Dumb throwing decision, got bailed out. Not really playing all that well tonight but it's all tied so just settle down and win the last 3 innings

BLANCO leads off our 4th with a sharp single.

We're timing this starting UCLA pitcher real well, so they're making the switch to the bullpen

Pitching change for UCLA.  Smart, we're clearly dialed in on their starter.  Time for a change of pace to see if they can throw us off-balance.  Hopefully it won't slow us down too much.

From what I've seen in softball 2nd base isn't 'scoring position' like it is in hardball.I don't think giving up an out just to get a runner to 2nd is worth it.If a runner is on 2nd with nobody out a bunt make more sense to me.
