Overall, UConn put up less points than I thought they would.
Our defense looked good at times. They had some good hits.
But also there were some runs where it seemed like UConn was getting 15 yards up the middle way too easily.
They were also their own worst enemy. Especially with the 2 key dropped balls early. And the fact that we got lucky on that muffed punt by Gallon, recovering it. If they catch those balls, or if the muffed punt goes back to UConn, it's possible there could have been a different outcome.
I'm thrilled about the victory. There's a lot to celebrate. But, with ND looming next week, I can't help but think about our D and how it will hold up. They probably looked slightly better than I thought, but, we really did catch some breaks today. And the fact that our offense had 0 turnovers was huge. If we can keep that up all year, that will be a huge help to our D.
Anyhow, I'm curious what ppl thought about our D that - unlike me - actually know what to look for in a defense.
