This will be your snowflake thread for coaching and coaching decisions.
"Rodrick Williams Jr.'s 10-month old, 2-foot-long savannah monitor named "Kill" gets the RB some strange looks when they go for walks together."
and tell Brady, that when you are down by 3, with 5 min left, and you are on the 6, kick the fucking FG!
No. Play for the win, not the tie. I liked the decision. The way this year has gone, if we'd kicked that FG, Northwestern probably would have run a picture-perfect five-minute drive for the game-winning score.
Northwestern definitely would have done that.
i would have been happy if this had been a one comment thread, and yours was that comment.
concise. no wasted words. somewhat poetic.
Just landed in Miami and heard Michigan won. All I want to know is did they outcoach the opposition?
— Desmond Howard (@DesmondHoward) November 17, 2013
What about Hoke? He DOES THE SAME THING when Michigan does something well or messes up! Walks forward clapping while yelling "Execute better!"
Glad they practice the quick FG. Props for that.
Props to Mattison for keeping (or calling the plays) them at bay most of the day...I dare say, eating hay.
Agreed. Great preparation.
Not true at all. He leaned back alike he always does.
also, thank you based refs.
Don't forget Greg based Mattison
I usually bitch about refs a lot, but not much this year. Today it really seemed like they wanted us to win.
As long as a Michigan Man is coaching Michigan that's all that matters.
All coaching was bad today. Awful.
I've lost confidence in Hoke after that 4th down call.
I think that 4th down call was an excellent, aggressive call. If you don't get it, NW has the ball on their own 2 yard line.
However, the play call on that 4th down play was atrocious. If you are going to run that specific play, you need to run it to the far side of the field where there is more space for your athletic QB to make a play. Also, you have a top 10 draft pick on the left side of your OL in Lewan.
Again, I like the call to go for it. I don't like the play call at all.
I don't. You go for the tie when you have a tough time getting points all game. We could've been driving for the win instead of the tie late.
If we run a play there that has a chance of workin and they get the TD, you'd be saying it was a great call.
Why not run the Statue of Liberty there? Easy 6 points....
The chance of gibbons tieing it is a lot better than getting a 1st down.
You Play To Win The Game.
Then why ever punt or kick a FG? Who said we weren't going to get the ball back exactly like we did?
Right. Guys that are in a rage will rage no matter what Hoke decided to do. If he kicks, they'd complain that he didn't play to win. When he goes for it, they bitch that he didn't kick. They're like PMSing chicks , complain about EVERYTHING! Pathetic.
If we hadn't got that kick off everyone on here would've been calling for Hoke's firing for not going for the tie earlier in the game.
But we DID get the kick off, tied the game and won in overtime. So, it worked out in the end. You're the one bitching about a win, and a win on the road, that many (especially recently) slated as another loss.
Ok whatever you say dude.
you are soft headed.....
I haven't agreed with much of what Brady has called this season and a lot of his decisions (I called it, on this board, that people were overlooking Borges as a bad hire.) Look we were head to head with Bama for the #3 player in the nation not two days ago, and people made it seem like the worst event ever even though Hoke was been recruiting REALLY well (I also called Da'Shawn Hand to Alabama two weeks ago and was mocked, on this board.)
All of the bad coaching this year since the ND game probably made Hand not want to be a part of this.
I knew, on a personal level, the week after PSU that Hand was going to Alabama. At that time, most people were only slightly worried about the staff's coaching ability.
something, but how exactly did you call something two weeks ago when you joined today? Is this you RDT?
It was also against a team that is one of the worst in the big ten. It's like the rich rod years again. ''Just be happy! We won!'' Give me a break dude. There was still bad coaching galore in this game.
You're the type of negativity in the fan base that breeds a culture which resulted in Rodriguez's premature termination! Brady will coach up his players without the damage the bad half of the fanbase brings (we know which side that is). It's certainly can't help the players and I know recruits who often cite this type of petty stuff as something they seriously consider. Do you want to lower this fanbase to the level of ohioan berserkers?
So be pissed off, at this point I don't really give a fuck about you or your angry sad group. It was a fun game, the kids came through and got a big road win. Go cry if you must.
Thank you! This type of boorish behavior should be shouted down by the rational side of this fanbase.
You seem angrier and sadder than anyone on this board
Hardly. I elated for Team 134! They pulled out a great win, improved, and now have some momentum going into the Iowa and OSU games.
Yes! I think Iowa is very winnable and ohio did not exactly play like world beaters in today's game against Illinois.
That's rich, coming from you. Have you ever had anything positive to say?
Negative is the new positive on MGoBlog.
Dude is dropping f-bombs all over people in defense of a coach that he himself was blasting like crazy after the Nebraska game.
I'm positive when there are things to be positive about. Haven't been many positives with this team since Notre Dame, which is too bad. Not sure why people tear themselves up trying to see otherwise.
Shit some of us just see a few weeks down the road... and it doesn't like so hot. I am very proud of our boys today. But its bittersweet because I've watched this offense every week. I see the questionable decisions from the top-down.
Brady has a decision to make at the end of the year and I have a terrifying feeling he will choose wrong. When you see a gap developing between you and your most hated rivals with a feeling that it may get worse, sorry if I'm not praising Jesus these days.
Yes...and when you haven't scored a touchdown in 11 quarters and there's only 6 minutes left and the possibility is there that you don't get the ball back you go for the tie. That puts Michigan in the best chance to WIN THE GAME.
Let's let Brady call the games, why don't we? I'm putting my trust in his decisions until his game management actually loses us a game, rather than wins it for us.
Game management includes play calling, and that lost the game for us, Gibbons aside.
I'm not bitching about tonight, I thought kick for the tie was the way to go, but we did win so Hoke gets a psss on that. And Hoke should still be the coach for two more years. However Borges once again was bad, but pulled it out in OT.
I know it's easy to forget one single TD, but I see this (no TDs is last X quarters) repeated so many places.
It was a great call IMO. If you're going to run Devin you have to spread it out first.
