SIAP: UM Opens as 9.5 point Underdogs

I expected +6.5 or so. This seems a bit too much to me. However, this may reflect uncertainty over Corum and Edwards (et al.) and their status. As things get clearer during the week, I think this will narrow and close around UM +7.5 or +7.

i have maintained for months that we would be 7-10 pt dogs, but i guess after watching ohio have more near-falls than us, i thought it would be closer to 7.

what was the spread last year?

We are going to beat OSU on Saturday. I became absolutely convinced of it last night.

Despite all of the wailing and gnashing of teeth during yesterday's game, we pulled out a win, and did it without several of our most important players. A lesser team would have lost. But that's not what sealed the deal for me.

My gut tells me Coach was willing to lose that game to give us a better shot at OSU. There were at least a couple guys that probably could have played who didn't. They'll be better healed on Saturday.

We haven't won in Columbus in 22 years. It's time to push that dagger in and prove that last year wasn't a fluke. Michigan is back at its rightful place amongst the best teams in the country and that's where we're staying.

I hope we are a 21 point underdog.  Anything that makes Ohio more certain they are going to win is fine with me.  I don’t much care if we drop in rankings either.  All that matters is winning the game.  The rest will take care of itself.

I love it. Can’t live your life playing the disrespect card but I think it can be valuable in one offs like this.

my predication 35-21… good guys.

Yeah, this seems a bit too high and seemingly ignores how mortal OSU has been basically for a month now.  Once we get more certainty about injuries my guess is this goes down to 7-ish.

If anything yesterday has told us, college football is a box of chocolates.  Nothing is surprising any more.  I wouldn't be surprised with any outcome next Saturday.
Blow them out
Blow us out
Close win
Close loss

Only two of those outcomes however, would be delightful.

All I ask is for our lines to come back into phase after phasing out in the second half against Illinois, and for our receivers to wipe the butter from their fingers.  Drops and turn overs will really be the the only hard to stomach disappointment next week.

9.5 implies Michigan's run game is stuffed and the passing game is mediocre. I think OSU will get their points (high 20s). I think Michigan can get 17+ even if they can't run the ball particularly well.

Line is too high. Should be 5.5

Line be damned! This is a huge opportunity for Michigan to shut up many of the naysayers and those that are hanging on OSUs nut sack. There isn’t any way they want two from the B10 in the CFP so win and you’re in and lose and it’s Pasadena. Go Blue and JUST Win Baby!
