Hail Harbo

Two years, three games, two injuries to his feet, you think the NFL will so easily overlook propensity to injury?  Somebody with injury issues, if they have a hope to play in the NFL, needs to show a track record of not getting injured.  So yeah, he might well need that 6th year to prove he can stay healthy.

If he comes back this year, and has two seasons of #1 UM WR stats, then he will be draftable. Even if he returns this year and then has one very good season next year, he will be draftable—perhaps mid to late rounds. His injuries are different: bone, not muscle or tendon problems, which linger. Harbaugh just needs to make sure he drinks his whole milk.

Hard luck, no question.  Seems like he's got the right attitude to not only make it through this unfortunate time, but come out of it better than going in.

What Hoke did was shameful, knowing what we *already* know about head injuries . What he did to denard is abhorrent imo.   I think Gardner would have flourished if he wasn't always getting slammed into the ground.

Urban Meyer has perfected the "let my qb try to primarily be a bowling ball, who cares if it doesn't translate to the next level?"

From what I've seen, harbaugh has always tried to be on the cutting edge of injury prevention.

I know he obviously screwed up with Morris, but aside from ridiculously calling injuries “boo-boos,” what was his overall injury “policy” that was so upsetting?  I am honestly asking because I can’t remember it being questionable.  I am sure that Michigan was not the only team that had players playing with some injuries, right?  Isn’t that even kind of standard by the end of the season? Speight could barely stand up straight against OSU in 2016.  Chad Henne should have been in a hospital gown during the entire second half of the 2007 season.

Arrrrrrrgh, I always thought he was going to end up being the best of the big 2017 WR haul given his polish and physicality... what a bummer. Someone get this kid some titanium alloy feet.

If he’s not ready in 6 weeks he should just be shut down and hope for a medical. No use rushing him back unless the staff is 100% sure he’s ready.

Another medical?  I think we get two years of starting out of Tarik before he goes pro.  Need to get him healthy for those two years but it’d be good to get him back for OSU.  (Internet says 6-12 weeks for healing.)

Yea ... I suspect its a Lisfranc. If so, he may be back for OSU and thats about it. Reason is its non-weight bearing for 6 weeks alone then partial for 2-3 more weeks then evaluate how full weight goes. Depending on severity I suspect its more like 10 weeks for him. Penn state come back would be optimistic and ideal; hopeful for OSU game for him.

Exactly. Not sure why I'm getting begged. I dont want him to be injured, people just are unreasonable. Lisfranc is common mid foot injury and slow to heal. Heck I want Tarik to be back big 10 games but I'm putting out realistic timeline. Dont want to rush this, it's his future. Better to go slow and have him 100%. Being back for last 3 or so games would be awesome.

Really hope he can somehow make it back sometime this season. Just has had awful injury luck but he's a hell of a talent and would've been our #1 guy this year.

If we think we feel bad, we should stop and think about how Tarik feels. He may have to wait two years before he can ever really get back on the field. And now he's at the point where future NFL teams will start questioning his ability to stay healthy. Especially if this is season-ending.

Also, we dont know how he broke his foot. If he broke it just cutting or running, that's concerning. If he went up for a catch and came down awkwardly or someone stepped on him, etc...its just bad luck. Until we know more details, its best we don't speculate that Tarik is made of glass or doing something wrong
