He deleted his tweet accepting Manziel's bet. Probably after his attorney chewed him out after doing so with his eligibility still up in the air

Jesus S Christ of all humans for Shea to NOT get publicly linked to right now I'd have to say I'd put Johnny Football at the top of the list.

I know I tend to skew pessimistic when it comes to Michigan and the NCAA (go figure) but damn Shea dont make it easy for them to justify a no for God's sake.

PROS: Best arm on the 2017 team. Great ability to adjust velocity on throws to make passes very catchable. Provided spark to offense when first inserted. Not a dual threat but shows plus athleticism. Gained big game experience as a redshirt freshmen.

CONS: Coming off a concussion. Failed to rifle some passes when needing to despite good arm strength. Regressed in bowl game. Seems to lack the guts to dive head first for a clutch first down and not a vocal leader which is desired from his position.

He was only a redshirt freshmen. It is too early to write off anyone this young. I think Patterson is the #1 and McCaffrey will probably bump Peters for #2 but there is a lot to be determined about how the QB depth all shakes out.

I'm sure he still doesn't even pay for one line of coke in Texas.

I'd prefer to never see a Michigan player's name in the same sentence as Manziel's unless it's an article about them breaking some sort of record that he held.

I'm sure one of the perks of running a site like this is being able to act with impunity. You know how it is - getting a bit hammered while watching a game, scroll through a few comments and, on a whim, say to yourself "hey.. F this guy" and hit the SMITE button. The next morning, you see what happened and you just shrug it off. Why? Because you can.

1) It's an uninformed take due to the fact that his brother got hired on staff, which as the previous replier(?) mentioned and that might have been enough.

2) Assuming that he has questionable character for being paid(Which we aren't sure of anyway) for a service he is providing to the University is ridiculous. If he did take money, I don't think we can say whether that is indicative of a negative character trait or whether its indicative of someone understanding their value and skirting insane rules to get compensation for it. The latter makes me like him more personally.

3) They didn't "magically get a 5 star QB". They had high recruiting classes and solid seasons the few years before which might have led Patterson to believe they were a good destination to win games and improve his draft stock.

Just to be clear, I have no idea whether he was paid, but saying that he obviously was is an uninformed take. He probably was is better, but even then, calling out his character because of that is just stupid. And when you factor in that his brother got hired, I think a likely scenario is that the two factors that played into his commitment to Ole Miss was the fact that he was helping out his brother(probably a sign of high character) and the likelihood to win games.

On top of it all, he chose to go to UM for his transfer, and almost assuredly didn't get paid to do so. I'm sure if he were looking for money, he could've found it somewhere, but instead chose to go to possibly the best coach in college for improving your draft stock. I think he cares about getting better and being drafted. Which signals to me that he thought Ole Miss gave him that opportunity, which wasn't all that wrong. Hugh Freeze is a solid-to-great offensive coach who turned Chad Kelly into a drafted quarterback.

Seniors and Michigan recruits before I root for transfers.  Old school

Yes, I love to WIN.  But listen to latest Harbaugh podcast w last years Captain Mike McCray.  Solid dude., M grad,, did well in combine and will be drafted. Like Ben Gideon last year, a guy that goes 4 or 5 years, matures and represents M how it should be. Solid.

That is why I will root for Peters.  BTW, He has the Talent.  Just young.  Go Blue.

Not nearly as good? Gedeon led the team in tackles by a mile as a senior and also co-led in TFLs (with Peppers).

McCray is fine but there’s a reason opponents schemed to get him in coverage. Gedeon was a better pro prospect because of his athleticism.
