Several 2024 UM FBall Recruit Announcements Incoming
The dog days of the off-season are rolling along a we near under 2 months until kickoff. The upcoming 7-days could provide several fireworks on the 2024 recruiting side leading up to Independence Day.
June 28th: 4* MI LB Jeremiah Beasley (#320 247 Composite) all predictions signal it will be Michigan tonight. MSU writers have all flipped their picks to Michigan as they are punching air while Tuck gets himself ready for another photoshoot.
June 30th: 4* TX OT Michael Uini (#127 247 Composite) very interesting situation as Michigan received several predictions after his OV, he posted a Michigan commit photo a few months ago on Twitter then took it down, now Georgia, Alabama and Michigan folks all seem confident in his commitment. Will be a very interesting development to follow.
July 1st: 3* PA DT Deyvid Palepale (#784 247 Composite) Flooded with Michigan predictions after his OV, but then old friend Shaun Nua looks to have turned the tide quickly over to USC. 3* mafia but his offer list of Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, USC and Miami FL says otherwise.
July 3rd: 4* FL DE Elias Rudolph (#256 247 Composite) Michigan has received all predictions for his commitment, barring a shocking twist looks like he will be the next Edge commit. Also rumors he is transferring back to Cincinnati for his senior year.
July 4th: 4.5* OH CB Aaron Scott (#53 247 Composite): tentatively announcing on 7/4, but could be pushed to the end of July. Numerous debates and discussions for one of the top players in the country and best player in Ohio. Michigan staff believes Michigan leads, Ohio State feels confident as well. Truly sounds like a toss-up. Vibes feel like earlier announcement = good for Michigan, late announcment = good for OSU. Would make a major statement if Michigan gets Scott's pledge.
July 4th: 4* CT DE Jacob Smith (#224 247 Composite): tenatively announcing on 7/4 as well. Brother of Michigan commit Jerod. Sounds like it is down to Michigan vs. Nebraska with Michigan receiving majority of predictions. If Jacob commits, seems like Edge recruiting will be all but wrapped up.
July 16th: 4* NC WR Jordan Shipp (#415 247 Composite): Right on the edge of 3/4 star status. Shipp looks to be between Michigan and NC State. However he has visited Michigan twice in June and seems pretty locked into joining his other fellow HS teammates in Michigan's class.
Other prospects of note who have a vague timeline or none at all that Michigan leads/or is right at the top for: 4.5* ID WR Gaitlin Bair could be some time in August, 4* OH CB Terhyon Nichols becomes a huge recruit if Scott chooses the Buckeyes or could be a great 1-2 CB punch if he chooses Michigan, 4* TX OT Bennett Warren also seems to favor Michigan, but may be left out of the OL party if Uini chooses Michigan on Friday, 4.5* FL S Zaquan Patterson sounds like Michigan is really trending up after his recent visit, but sounds like far and away from a decision, 4* OH DE Brian Robinson continues to be one of the more confusing recruiting stories of the cycle as he has visited Ann Arbor enough to start paying property taxes, but seemingly mentions no time table to commit to anyone, and finally 5* IL DT Justin Scott once thought of as a massive long-shot/NIL darling has suddenly shifted back to a Michigan/Notre Dame battle as several rumblings have made it seem like Michigan might lead?! However Scott's recruitment is like the Millenium Force with the twists and turns. Sounds like Mike Elston has really resonated with the big fella and could be the crown jewel of 2024.
*Exhales* enjoy the upcoming 4th of July everybody!
Mel Tucker and MSU program is BOOTY.
They are desperate for 5 star DL David Stone.
If the kid chooses MSU over Oklahoma I will have to question his sanity.
What 5* player wants to commit to a team with three recruits and is most likely going to finish under .500 his entire college career?
They have nine currently. One four star, a bunch of 3s, and an unrated kid.
In the Day$ of NIL, all questions like that can be resolved by referring to the willingne$$ of the school to make an offer he cant refu$e.
You say 3 but others say 9. That’s quite a spread.
Now THIS is how you format a post.
Well done, OP 👏
Great Writeup and I love your confidence with these recruits! Go Blue!
July 1st: 3* PA DT Deyvid Palepale (#784 247 Composite) Flooded with Michigan predictions after his OV, but then old friend Shaun Nua looks to have turned the tide quickly over to USC.

He can’t coach. He was objectively a poor DL coach in his time here. Recruiting is considered a strength of his however, and USC is a pretty easy place to recruit from.
I'm happy with Elston, but genuinely curious why Nua shouldn't get any credit for developing Hutchinson and Ojabo
I mean, I think Nua deserves SOME credit, but Ryan Osborn was mentioned by both those guys as being a huge influence and Michigan was slapped on the wrist for letting Osborne coach on the field. So I think Osborn was the guy who really helped Hutchinson and Ojabo hit their peak, and Ojabo didn't do jack squat before Osborne came on board. At least in Hutchinson's case, he was pretty good before Osborn joined the squad.
Ah, thank you. I recall the mini-scandal on that, but hadn't realized Osborn was that involved with the edge rushers.
It's become pretty evident that past few years that we have a separate grad assistant who coaches DE. Before it was Ryan Osborne and now Dylan Roney
I don’t think he shouldn’t get “any” credit. He’s not completely incompetent, he made it to being a P5 position coach. But he simply wasn’t a good coach. Those two specifically credit Osborne for their development and it’s pretty telling that he took a lateral position and Michigan was just okay letting him walk.
He’s good for 10 percent. He made sure they cleaned their plates in the cafeteria.
I don’t think he was even a good recruiter. It’s like just Rooks and Iwunnah.
He didn’t seem to recruit well for us, I’m just speaking generally. His upside when he was hired here was supposed to be his recruiting ability.
I mean he couldn't with us. USC recruits itself
Andre Krimm went to North Texas, not USC.
Underrated comment
To make this double post useful, I'll remind folks that Andre does not eat meat, Andre is a vegetarian.
Eat whatever the hell ya want Andre!
USC's defense was terrible. They did have a good defensive end in Tuli Tuipulotu (13.5 sacks) last season, but the defense overall was bad.
USC and OSU's defenses were carbon copies of each other. In other words, both sucked
Oh, I'm aware how bad USC's defense was. Just saying the school itself recruits itself
I'm very curious as to how you think this proves he can coach.
Agreed. The type of players he wanted didn't want to play in a Don Brown defense.
A+ post.
Creative yet informative thread title.
Quality, relevant content.
Excellent commentary.
A full meal: appetizer (intro paragraph), main course (bullet points on key recruits), dessert (summary of situation with other recruits).
A standing ovation to Denarded...whose user name certainly checks out!
Do we have any insight into whether the coaches are still pushing for Palepale or did Wafle take his spot?
Everything on the internet says that Palepale was on his way to PSU and then USC hooked him... and that UM wanted him but has looked elsewhere as that became clear.
Pretty sure we want Palepale. If we lost him I believe it has been floated that we would still look for another NT, unless we got Scott.
Scott is interesting. It was recently suggested that if he went south it was Georgia, if he stayed North it was Michihan but Georgia (or Miami) was the leader. It is now allegedly Michigan vs ND. I figured we'd never have a real chance.
I believe the coaches considered them for different positions. Palepale was looked at as a pure nose tackle and Wafle as a more traditional DT. The staff stayed on Palepale after Wafle’s commitment as well, but maybe backed off lately as he leaned towards PSU and now USC
Wafle and Palepale will play different positions. Palepale is a nose tackle. Wafle is more of a 3-tech or maybe a 5-tech.
Vibes feel like earlier announcement = good for Michigan, late announcment = good for OSU. Would make a major statement if Michigan gets Scott's pledge.
In regards to this, Sam Webb said Scott's father, who is a huge OSU fan's, birthday is at the end of the July. If the commitment stays on July 4th, we should have optimism. If the commitment is moved to his father's birthday, well, then we shouldn't be too optimistic
Yep. When Scott initially said he was going to visit Michigan, his dad said he would have to visit Ann Arbor without his dad there.
It will never not boggle my mind that parents can't set aside what college football team they root for to let their kid make a good decision
He went with his son to AA. It was just talk.
Why does it always seem like Michigan fan/legacy parents are willing to put aside their fandom to let their kids pick the right school for them, but OSU parents are not? Is it intelligence and maturity?
If my son were a D1 level athlete (which he is not), I would want him to choose Michigan if that were an option. What’s wrong with that?
I know nothing about Mr Scott, but if this is true, he is a horrible father. That is just ridiculous.
He DID say that but then came with his son on at least one of his M visits. If he was really being a dick about it I doubt M would be neck and neck with OSU.
Another key to Scott is if OSU takes a commitment from CB Lockhart out of AZ in the next few.days They've claimed they're only taking 2 CBs in this class and are hard after 4 CBs nationally - West (committed), Lockhart, Scott, and Black (Tx). If they get Lockhart's commitment, that tells me Scott is on his way to UM
Let's not pretend like OSU wouldn't also take Scott just to spite us...
No doubt but what I'm hearing is that they've been recruiting Lockhart hard for a couple of years now and wouldn't slow play him - waiting on Scott - if he wanted to commit for fear of pissing him off and watching him go to a West coast team. They actually offered Lockhart before the other three of West, Scott and Black who they really wanted but seems like he's headed to Texas now
Would also be quite something to turn Scott down with the secondary they've had lately.
24/7 says Lockhart is committing on July 6.
JB commits to Michigan!!! One of the LBs CP wanted the most
